It was a very tough emotional match... Mr. Del Potro played his best match since 2009 in my opinion. He should be a strong contender at the US Open off of this performance.

How are you doing, who do you think will win? I have Federer tbh in 4, Murray has a packed schedule, but if he pulls it off......two Golds! (one can dream eh?!)

If the weather stays sunny, dry and windy, I give Murray an excellent shot.  As we could see today, the sun and wind really have dried the court out. It wasn't playing much like grass today in terms of defensive player movement. It wasn't slippery, the ball is bouncing higher, generally favoring retrieving tactics over attacking.  Only grass attacking strategies left are low slice onto the grassier part of the court, wide angles to force the player on the fresher grass and drop shots. Of course a strong serve will help as well...   The baseline is down to the dirt all the way across, worse than their Wimbledon Championships final.

Federer retains #1 now through at least Cincinnati, even after withdrawing from Toronto. no matter what happens on Sunday.  I think he'll be pleased with a silver medal if Braveheart gives a strong effort to win his first Wimbledon tournament and gold for his team, Great Britain, and himself. ;)

Yes Mr Masterclass, Federer has a lock on that No.1, he is Defending something like a R3/QF/SF in the US Open swing so he should improve, Nole on the other hand has a 1000/600/2000 to defend, very tough, I think Fed vs. Muzzah for Cinci but we'll have to wait, Toronto looks wide open, I think Murray after the exertions to the final will also pull out leaving only Nole of the top 5 left. Berdych has a shot at some easy points, he can't even lose in R1 this time  :)~

Exactly. A lot of pressure on Mr. Djokovic through the US Open.  He isn't playing badly.  He's playing very well, yet just not quite good enough in the key moments. Other top players seem a bit more motivated than they were, and Nole's 2011 aura/confidence is not there.  I don't know how else to explain it.  I don't see much difference from him technically. In fact, I think his serve has improved overall. I think his breaking ability on return has slipped a bit, but I believe that's is mental rather than technical.

Perhaps Mr. Alex has something else to add.

Djokovic has lost the "eye of the tiger". There's only one way to get back and that means going back to the beginning!
Then we will fight in the shade.

I like both DP and Fed, it was a tough match to watch.

I always hope for Fed and DelPo to be in separate halves.

For Djokovic and DelPo I don't know what to expect as they play for the bronze.
Not sure if the great emotion will be there.

It must be torture for you to watch these kind of matches. The good news for Del Potro fans is that he looks like he's almost fully back to his slam-winning form.

I know DelPo is emotional, he doesn't show it on the court though often.

DelPo has shown some fight and play I haven't seen for awhile today, so for that I'm happy.
