Tournament Info

Since 1892, the best women's tennis players in the world have showcased their skills at what is now known as the Rogers Cup; only Wimbledon and the US Open have longer histories.

Part of the US Open Series, the tournament rotates each year between Toronto and Montréal, with the ATP staging its version of the event the same week in the alternate city. Three times It has been named the WTA's Premier Tournament of the Year - in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

The event has been captured by a plethora of all-time greats, with Chris Evert and Monica Seles leading the way with four titles each. Seles has an especially memorable history, with the first of her four straight championships coming in 1995 in Toronto - her first tournament back after a two-year, three-month absence from the WTA. Martina Navratilova has the most doubles titles at this event, with her sixth in 2006 being the last title of her illustrious career.

Self-praise is for losers. Be a winner. Stand for something. Always have class, and be humble.

Vinci def. Ana Ivanovic 6:0, 6:0. I mean, really why even bother playing? pathetic. I actually managed to watch this mess. I'm done with the WTA. If a former #1, a GS champion can't win a game against a very average player, I just don't know what to say. Ana, retire and become a full time model.

Ivanovic, who is still very young btw, used to be a force on the court. She was so consistent. Whatever happened to her is beyond me.

I read that result and thought it was a misprint :rofl_2:  Like I said earlier - thank goodness for Serena for me!  The "old girl" is still playing pretty good.  I hope Victoria can do something at this tournament but since she also played late at the Olympics...who knows what will happen!

By tennis player standards, Petra Kvitova has some gigantic boobs.

Also, she just won the first set in this final. A very competitive one against Li Na. Over an hour just for the first set alone.
