.Looking at the O of P, I'll be spending most time on Court 3, which is quickly becoming my favorite one here, to see Hewitt - Troicki, Haas - Del P, and Baghdatis - Raonic. In the evening it will be the Federer and Ni La matches on Center Court.
I followed the above except that I only stayed for the first set of Baghdatis - Raonic.
Actually, I thought Tommy Haas did a pretty good job. The serve was not all that bad and they stayed on serve to something like 5-5 when Haas dropped it and lost the set after the next game. The real turning point was in the second set at about the 5th game when Tommy botched a critical overhead, mainly, as far as I could see, because the sun was there too. But after that he lost confidence and the end came quickly. However I gave him much credit for being able to return the ferocious Del Potro forehand time and time again. You can never really appreciate what a weapon this is on TV. You have to see and hear it live.
No credit though to Lleyton Hewitt
who lost to Troicki 2-6, 0-6. He really played terribly. 44% first serves in, for example, and boatloads of unforced errors. Nothing like Monday's show. I guess he is a night person. Today's effort was sad. Troicki played pretty well but not especially.
The Baghdatis - Raonic set that I saw. Raonic's monster serve was countered by far better ground play from Baggy and very good, but not remarkable serving. When I last looked, it seemed that Raonic had just won it on the third but it was much closer than I expected. I really like the spirit of the Baghdatis game.
Now for the night matches.
