I've just started watching the Del Potro / Chardy match.  I was hoping Chardy could continue to play well but he seems less spirited than in his previous matches.  Del Potro though, looks good out there.  Good to see.

Chardy has started playing better - freer. I hope this is a better contested set.

I'm watching the match too. DP playing well, Chardy is making too many UE. the only thing that bothers me is  they both look like twins, yellow T shirts and black shorts both. it should be illegal.   ..-). it's a very rare combination and it hurts my eyes.

Chardy was still celebrating his win over Murray! Lol but for a "lucky looser", I guess you can say he had a pretty good tournament.

I see Caroline lost AGAIN. Where do you think she will end up in the rankings at the end of the year? She started at no. 1....and has been steadily falling since!

Tomic's serve is still mystery for me. Is he going to get bigger serve?
That would seem to be contrary to his style of play which I see as a crafty, conservative, all-court player.

Nole 6:0 first set. it looks like Davydenko is trowing this match away. kinda embarrassing for the crowd. again, nothing special from Djokovic, he just does his usual stuff. Kolya just can't serve. I can't even remember how many DF he had. just awful.

great, Davidenko just retired with an unknown sort of injury   :\. I waited for this mess all day long. meh
Undoubtedly a brain cramp........

The only one I'm not sure about in the men's is Wawrinka and Roanic.
Raonic is slowly improving.
Stan better be on his toes.

I hope Stan wins...but I think Raonic will.

I just have to concentrate on Roger's match with Fish first... I'm worried about that one a little.

Venus looking solid today, at times at least.

Stosur's kick serve is something fierce.  Only Bab's serve can rival it!
Good Luck on the Court!!!

I'm glad I was able to watch the seconf set of the Djokovic / Cilic match.  Djokovic looking confident & playing well. MC simply being outplayed.  Nothing surprising there.

I'm on the road now & will have to watch what I can of the remaining QF's en route.  I hope they'll be good matches. I'm predicting Federer & Wawrinka to get through.  :)

It's about the matchc-ups...and history has shown that Cilic does NOT match up well with Novak.  He's only won ONE set in all their matches...so today was a continuation of that match-up.  But Novak is playing well, as usual, on hardcourts.

I hope Venus gets through.

Serena is coming up next! Yea!  I hope she has more energy than she did in her match yesterday!

I agree about this. He doesn't need to have a huge serve, just an accurate one.

I'm not saying I like the guy but I am newly converted to the opinion that he has immense talent and that we will be seeing a lot more of him on the tour.

I went to the first two singles matches on Center Court today. They were both very entertaining. Del Potro may not be at full strength yet but he is playing a very good game. His serving looked fine to me; so much for the left hand problem yesterday which I would expect would affect the toss. His wingspan makes him hard to pass. Chardy was never really competitive but played a good match. Same for Cilic. It was a also good game to watch. Nole is in fine form but not, I think, at the Federer level.

Although it is a beautiful day, I needed to get out of the sun and came back to the motel. I'll go back tonight for Federer - Fish. Should be a good one!  :))

Well my STAN impressed me cause he just won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Go Stan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raonic was playing too far back in the court.  He needs to learn to control his court position.  But I'm happy that Stan won.  I'm 2 out of 3 so far today (Venus and Stan won - Serena lost).  Now I hope to make it 3 out of 4 today if Roger can come through!!!!!

Fed will come through.
He has a better chance against Wawrinka, Roanic can be unpredictably dangerous.

Stan was really outplayed for the first 2 sets, gladly he picked it up after.

I believe this is his first hardcourt MS1000 SF isn't it?

Congrats!

Of course, the pace is not the most important element for a good server, pace, variety, consistent, placement.
However for me, I believe he still has a lot of room to improve it as he is a very young player. He is 196cm tall guy and I believe he should have better serve than current serve he has, high consistent and good placement with much better pace.

I'm so happy for Stanley, he has shown some consistency finally!
