Western & Southern Open - Clinic with Gilbert and Gottfried!!

In less than 12 hrs from now, me, my son and 18 others from our tennis club are having a private clinic with Brad Gilbert and Brian Gottfried (8AM EST).  At first I thought it was only for the kids but I found out the adults in our group are actually going to be IN THE CLINIC.  Then, we have a ticket to the day session semis!!!!  So, euroka, maybe I will see you afterall.  Anthonydster IS STOKED!

That's really great for you both :lmao: . I saw BG in the broadcast booth yesterday patiently (just)waiting to get a word in.

If you get to read this, I'll be again in section 208 F5, Gate 3. I have a big light  brown hat for day wear (with a Yerkes Observatory T shirt for today) and a green Carnegie cap for the night matches.

 Anthony and I were up at 5am for the trip. We left the tourney for home after the Bryans match which ended after 7pm. I was sleeping at the wheel coming home. But it went down like this. We got there and some tourney rep greeted us with super duper highlevel passes that we had to wear all day long. We head over to courts 7 & 8 and "warm up" and wait for Brad and Brian (since we are close that is what I call them haha.) They arrive at 8am and are of course super nices dudes! Chatted up a storm with us. Well, Brad being the smooth groundstroke guy he was had ct 7 and the groundies clininc. Brian was on 8 with volleys. They broke us up into an A group and a B group. Then they drilled us for a little over an hour. It was pretty cool. Then we got to go to the players locker room and get a shower and then wait for the buffet lunch which ended just in time for Djoko - Deipo. After that it was Fed - Wawrinka. Finally we ended the LONG day with a Bryan bros loss. What a great day. Thanks go out to bob for arranging. Sorry for the typos but i aint used to typing this muchand i aint editing. haha.

One of the kids in our group is a nationally ranked jr (he is 13 yrs old.)  One of my friends texted me, DURING THE MATCH that Brad just mentioned him from hitting with him at the clinic and that the kid should be on a plane right now to Fla where the USTA training center is.   

A lot of these pros have minds like a steel trap.  I told Vrad I saw him play back in the day and asked him if he remembered who he played in the finals of a tourney at Columbus in 1983 and he proceeded to tell us all kind of details about the match.  "....I beat Hank Pfister in 3 sets and what I recall about that days was it was like 95 degfrees...."   :))

Sorry I didn't find you euroka but I didn't see your reply above with your seating location till just now.

Glad you both had such a great time. I looked out for you but it was a real mob scene as you know and it would have been hugely coincidental to run into each other.

Yes it was packed, really good to see!  The electricity in the place was unreal.  Hopefully I will run into you again soon.
