Serious kudos to Berdych...after spotty play the past few months, to have the belief to take Fed at the USO, weathering a 3rd set storm...impressive.

Federer just did not have the game tonight!  Look very tennative in the begin and in the fourth set!  I think he just was not mentally up for it!  Oh well; that how the match goes sometimes; even if you are suppose to be the greatest. 

Cannot wait to see Andy take care of Tomas!  You have to remember that it is Czech vs. Czech!   Lendl + Murry vs. Berdych!

Congrats to the Berdych fans (Lug)...he played very well. Roger was making too many UFE and Berdych played clean tennis for most of the game. I wanted Roger to win, but it wasn't to be tonight so... Congrats to all the winners today.

The Berdych/Murray match might be interesting if Berdych continue to play like he did tonight . I think the announcers said Berdych has a winning record against Murray. But we will see. They both can rest until Saturday.

got up a couple of hours ago very early in the morning to see the second set and then fell back to sleep........i was so tired........getting up just now again to see that berdman has successfully destroyed federer........that second set was some hammering........

i am not surprised with this........who was it luke jensen or someone was acting as if nothing like this ever happened before........we all knew this was a possibility........berdych can destroy anybody on his day, he's proved it quite a few times in the past........

no Babs, not sure about Shank, I'm just having a really bad stomach flu. feeling so tired, just didn't really feel like posting anything.  I watched most of the matches today including Berd/Roger. Kudos to Berdych for sure. still feel that he will fail to win against Murray. not sure, who knows?

the way I see it is Djoko vs. Muzza final. Nole winning. but this is the best opportunity for Murray to win a major. it is going to be very interesting.

IMHO, the lack of matchplay over the past few days really hurt Federer, just like it affected Nole in RG 2011 SF. Nevertheless, credit to Tomas for getting the win - he looks really good. Murray vs Berdych should be an interesting semi.

Is it that Berdych hits the ball flatter and harder than everyone else? I think it might.

LOL, just responded to a post from Luggy suggesting that could be one of the reasons for his inconsistency. 
He absolutley crushes the ball and the margin for error is not as high as those players who hit with heavy top.

He should wear navy...hides it a bit better.  Impressive to see how much better Fed is playing though...yeah Berd got tight but Fed has been off for a good portion of the match.

Fed's like a shark when he senses blood in the water. He metomophoses into another player. This is how he wins so many of his matches. He just holds on long enough until his opponent begins to bleed.

Commentators mentioned the same thing.
At this stage of his career, I'm just not buying it.
Rest has got to be more important than adding to his career total of 'balls hit' which must be over 10 mil at this point.
