Alex - I will be on your side tomorrow! Go Novak!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is that because you really like Djoker more or just that you've been belittling Murray for the last 6 years and there's gonna be some reconciliation if he wins?  Don't fret, you're gonna have to face it one day and soon.  :)
Good luck on the court is nice to have, but it's usually extraneous when playing against Baker.

Sorry guys but I'm not buying it, BOTH matches should have been suspended imo. Violent rain  ..-)
When Ferru-Nole match got suspended they were playing in the same conditions as the whole Murra-Berdych match.

I don't care if you're not buying s**t. It was raining. :lmao!:

Apparently DJoker was able to dismantle 'The Wall' today, using a wall of his own.
There should be an * beside his win because if they'd continued the match yesterday Ferru would have cleaned clock in straights....

I think there's an element you're not getting - public safety officials were involved - they called it 45 minutes befor the *real* weather showed up, so people could get home safely.  They *evacuated* the stadium.  If it had just been more-of-same weather-wise, play would have continued.
Good luck on the court is nice to have, but it's usually extraneous when playing against Baker.

No need to get testy here Babbs, I think there's an element he didn't understand.  Think of it in terms of your lack of ability to communicate to him effectively.  Send some of your ire my way - I love it!!

I guess I understand Luggy's point though.
It was no pop up shower.
Officials knew the night before that the 2nd match would probably get pulled.
To keep things even Steven, they could have pulled both matches.
But then there's the lost revenue.  No surprise for pushing the 1st match through.

In all fairness, Lug, it did look bad  :scared: . You could see the weather front approaching New York after it came though here in Washington. Quite a bit of damage was done in this area and the papers today are full of it although the effects were very scattered. Here, on the NW side of town, we only had a few heavy rain showers with some wind but nothing serious.

euroka said the day before that bad weather was coming. I followed that with stating that if they did anything different, they would play both matches simultaneously. Why didn't they do that? My guess is that it was a disaster in terms of $$$$$, not just to the USTA, but to sponsors, as well. Having matches on separate days with the women's final on Sunday had to be deemed preferable. Like I said. I fully expected them to be played simultaneously.

Luggy didn't misunderstand poop. Yous guys are misunderstanding Luggers. He was rooting for Berdych!  :lmao!:

not sure about that bud. Novak tends to play stupid once in a while.  didn't he lose a set to Dodig last year at the AO, when he was dominated and then just brain farted a set.

He is actually a pretty good player in windy conditions.

Anyway, solid Nole today. the final should be so much fun. I can hardly wait.

Thanks Dallas. It's not going to be easy. Murray is more rested than Nole. Murray is very hungry. If he loses tomorrow it's going to a disaster for his confidence. apparently nobody lost 5 major finals in history (in a raw).  we'll see. let's hope for a great match  :)

My prediction for tomorrow's final.

1st set
Djokovic  6-3 in 30 minutes, injured back, foot, knee

2nd set
1 hour (5 +20 ball rallies)

3rd set
1:08 (6 +20 ball rallies)

4th set
1:10 (8 +20 ball rallies)

5th set
1:35 (13 +20 ball rallies)

Winner: The less-freshier rested Djokovic
Time 5:21

What's wrong with you guys today?  ..-)

It doesn't matter at all that I was pulling for Berdych! That match was just terrible to watch due to ridiculous wind that blew away chairs and rackets on the court!

It clearly bothered me a bit more than Murray fans, which is obvious, but thats not the point at all....

All I'm saying is that no one with a roof would close the roof because of wind.

Earlier, someone asked me why I don't like indoor tennis, and I rattled off a number of reasons as well as reasons I like out tennis. But I did end that with, Exept wind! I hate wind.

W can stop it from raining. AO can do that and air condition, but the temp has to be above an exact temp before they do that. One degree below, and they're OK with letting the players drop dead. But no one is going to close a roof because it's windy.

But the thing is it wasn't windy, it was one of the worst winds I've ever seen on tennis match, and definitely 1st time I saw chairs with bags got blown away all over the court.

Don't get me wrong, I understand why Ferrer-Djokovic match needed to be suspended. I just feel the other match should have been also suspended. Exceptions should be made when the stakes are so high. It was SF of a GS after all, and we got the worst SF possible!

That's why I posted the link above with Agassi-Federer at 2004 USO. Steady wind with gusts up to 40mph. Just look at 2:10:00.

today's semifinal rounds off the mediocrity of this year's us open.........has arthur ashe become clay or what? after all fedoriva may be right, they aren't doing the paint jobs right........court looked slow as s**t........

i wonder whether the usta guys covered the courts even after the play was called off.......or did they let the courts soak up because covers don't look good to the 10 or 15 crew remaining in the stadium?

absolutely boring tournament except for one clean showing from berdman.......he got robbed yesterday when they decided to stop djok's match but din't bother stopping his........he was beating murray had they played in saner conditions.........

if murray does not win a slam now, he may as well forget about winning it........agreed he was robbed at wimbledon but there is no excuse this time if he loses........so just do it now and don't forget to use the slice against djokovic........
Marian Vajda to Novak Djokovic, "I saw you beat that man like I never saw no man get beat before, and the man KEPT COMING AFTER YOU! Now we don't need no man like that in our lives."

i demand french open to be renamed RAFAEL GARROS
