Just 3 days in, and we've already had 9 players who won despite being 2 sets down. Is that a record???

Mathieu 2-6 4-6 7-6 7-6 6-1 Andreev
Cilic 5-7 2-6 6-4 6-2 6-4 Matosevic
Petzschner 1-6 4-6 6-4 7-5 7-6 Mahut
Fognini 3-6 5-7 6-4 6-4 7-5 Roger-Vasselin
Garcia-Lopez 3-6 1-6 6-4 7-6 7-6 Monaco
Dolgopolov 3-6 4-6 6-4 6-1 6-2 Levine
Tipsarevic 4-6 3-6 6-2 6-3 6-2 Rufin
Muller 2-6 3-6 7-5 7-6 7-6 Youzhny
Gulbis 3-6 4-6 6-4 7-5 6-3 Haas

So far, 3 players have done this incredible feat twice this year - Federer, Dolgopolov and Mathieu:worthy:

feel bad for Haas. I like both Gulbis and Haas but really wanted Haas to win it. I wasn't able to see the match as I stuck with the Clijsters vs. Robson match.  I've decided to watch tennis on TV as I'm tired of live lousy streams.

Most interesting, Oracle86 - incredible feat indeed!

I watched some tennis today.  The Del Potro / Senna match was good stuff.  Whilst DP rarely looked threatened, FS gave him a good match.  DP needs to tighten up his game though, looking forward.

The Isner / Malisse match was very entertaining in the last set. Well played by XM to help make such an entertaining match of it. I would have been pleased to see either man go through, and in the end, JI managed to take it. Good for him.

Had a peep at Gasquet /Montanes, and Gasquet won in 4 sets and started watching Kohlshreiber  playing Llodra, but am calling it a night. PK is down 2 sets to one.

Babblelot - I hope you are enjoying your sojourn to Flushing Meadows.

Fognini 3-6 5-7 6-4 6-4 7-5 Roger-Vasselin :thumbs-up:

Gulbis 3-6 4-6 6-4 7-5 6-3 Haas. :thumb-down:

I saw these 2, left Monaco because he was up 2-0 and Fognini was about to start. Left Dolgopolov because watching him losing to Jesse Levine was annoying and not entertaining.

Well glad you were there Babbs even you had to see Tommy losing in such way.
But I'm sure there's more to it when you are actually there, watching those wonderful strokes he has. Its more than winning or loosing I assume.

I'm still down-hearted, but boy I'm looking forward to those BH pics , Babbs my man!

It took Gulbis about 2 hours to get his serve working then it became unreturnable. Down 2 sets and a break!

I know its just unbelievable, where you there actually Babbs? I'm just in a terrible mood right now, can't think straight.

Yeah, I was there. Only got to see 1 set of Dimitrov-Paire on court 8, a match I really wanted to see, because Tommy followed 2 women's matches on court 17 that ended 1,1 and 2,2.

Women are pathetic.

Anyway, Tommy got up 2-0 sets and I couldn't help but think that I've seen this movie before and it has a bad ending. I felt better when he got the early break in the 3rd. Then Gulbis settled down. It was really a toss up from mid-3rd set on. Tommy didn't really go away, but Gulbis started serving lights out.

Yeh I watched the match, and was in awesome mood 'til that break back by Gulbis in 3rd set. Somehow I just KNEW what will happen next. And sadly, I wasn't wrong..............

btw this was my post prior to the last one in case you missed it...

Good stuff Oracle. I assume that 14 for the tournament? 3 a day is just nuts.

All of the top seeds look tip top of their game.  Cannot wait to see them meet!  Too bad Rafa is not here!  But Murray look very impressive!  Federer is up against Phau!  Should be an super easy match for him!

Yeah, a total of 14. So this year's US Open has a great chance to break the record.  :)

if the match went that far, almagro must have struck at least 10 backhand winners.......his backhand can generate serious power.........
