I hope Sharapova can pull back & make a match of it. Bartoli irritates me with her gestures & jumping around whilst waiting to receive serve.  MS, always the elegant one. Apart from that awful shrieking, that is!

Anyway, here is today's schedule:

Sorry, don't share that sentiment....
Sure, bartoli can be a bit irritating with her jumping around, but Maria'a shrieking is far worse...
If she wins, we'll have a Sharapova-Azarenka semi....
Can you imagine the noise ?

Spectators should be paid to watch that, not the other way around.

Some terrific play from Sharapova in the second set! She takes it 6-3. From a poor start in the first set, the match is now well balanced, but MS has the momentum. Great aggressive play from her!

START DA GAME -  The shrieking is too much, I agree. I've got the volume turned down.

She got louder as the match went on! I can take Victoria's noise over what Maria does (but that might be because I like Victoria) lol

:rofl_2:   I tried hard to imagine VA's noise as a note in singing, Dallas, but failed.  I've concluded, somewhat boringly, that shrieking is shrieking!

Anyway, MS prevailed. Hats off to her as MB fought well in the 3rd set.

And Errani took the all Italian match in straights.

I suspect poor Inanovic will be blasted off the court by Williams.

Ha ha. Serena tried to bully Ana and hit a ball through her rather than playing smart and hitting into the open court. Stupid way to end a 23 game streak.

Errani / Vinci through to the finals in the doubles!  What a great tournament for Errani.

As for MS -v- VA match, as VA is the favourite, I'll back MS.    Similarly for SE -v- SW. I'll shout for SE.

So I'm looking forward to a MS -v- SE final.   :)

Yes, this is so, Babblelot.   I'm commenting on the fact that they've done well here too.  Excellent stuff.  Many players do well in a slam but can't replicate a good performance.  SE has - in the singles & doubles.  I'm not sure why congratulating her & Vinci means that their performance in RG has been forgotten.   And if I'm surprised it is that I'm pleasantly surprised that they have been able to reproduce good form here.

Anyway, I hope they win the doubles title & SE can give SW a good match.
