general swish i think d-pot will be all business today. i cant see leonardo mayer causing any real problems for him..

DelPo should be able to make it far enough to meet Djokovic, I'm afraid that's his last stop.

Quote
Roger Federer said he is not surprised by recent reports that Rafael Nadal may be out for the rest of the season with knee problems, but is not ruling out a return by the Spaniard this year.

"It's obviously not great news but one that was a possibility," said Federer of Nadal's continuing absence. "I'm still hopeful that he'll be okay for the rest of the year."

Federer contacted Nadal during Cincinnati to check on his status. After winning his third-round match at the U.S. Open, he said the two do not specifically discuss injuries, yet are generally open with each other about their physical conditions.

"He sees me taped up. I see him getting taped up. We see each other warming up for matches and so forth. You never really talk about that," said Federer. "I think it's quite personal except if one guy goes up to the other. But we're both very open and honest, you know. When I ask him how he's feeling, he's not feeling well, he'll tell me, I'm tired, a little injured. There's no real secrets out there because he knows and I know when we tell each other that stuff it doesn't leave the room. That's a nice relationship I have with Rafa. It's based on a lot of trust."

upsets do happen but you are probably right.

nole is too good on hard courts. probably only somebody like murray or fed can come close to slowing him down.

i have a feeling that the clay warrior is playing. we would have already heard that he is withdrawing if he was not going to play.
he is on for sept. 14th if we dont hear anything in the next 2-3 days.

 Isner would rather Nadal play

NEWS ARTICLEPhoto: Corinne DubreuilJohn Isner (USA)American John Isner, currently competing at the US Open, would prefer to line up against a Spanish side that contains Rafael Nadal even though this would make it a lot more difficult to win in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group semifinal which will take place from 14 to 16 September.
“Everyone wants him to be healthy,” the American said. “Honestly, if it was up to me, I would want him to play.  I would want Spain to send out their absolute best team. “
Isner, who stands 6 feet 9 inches tall, is confident in the USA’s chances of progressing to the final despite having to face the reigning champions at home.
“I know our team is going to go in there believing we can win.  We've had two already tough wins on the road so far.” The man from North Carolina said. “We really do believe that we can beat Spain and that we can win the Davis Cup.  In order to do that, we have to play well.”
The American, No. 10 in the world, recognises the complications that arise when playing Spain on clay, the surface on which the Spanish are strongest. Even though this year the United States have already managed to win their first two ties on that surface against Roger Federer’s Switzerland and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga’s France.
Isner does not believe that avoiding Nadal would make the tie any easier because Spanish captain Alex Corretja has a huge number of players at his disposal to make a competitive team.
“Obviously Rafa on clay, he would make that team pretty tough.  But if he doesn't get to play, the match is still going to be so tough.  It's Spain.  They're the best tennis country in the world.” The American confirmed. “I would imagine they would throw Ferrer and Almagro at us, if I had to guess, two guys that know what they're doing on clay.”
The United States are the most successful side in Davis Cup history having won the competition 32 times. Their last victory came in 2007 when they defeated Russia in the final

All David Ferrer does is win tennis matches. Who cares about his "lack of style", I like his fight.
Then we will fight in the shade.

Thing is David Ferrer makes lower ranked players "pray for death". Heck even that 2011 AO against Rafa, he drove him into the ground with that 18 minute game.
Then we will fight in the shade.

CD - I see D-Pot as "end of line" for the Great Southern Ape. Nice little media story, but sorry Andy.
Then we will fight in the shade.

i think i might have to agree general fed fan. d-pot is a beast who has actually beaten roddick on the hard courts before.

this is probably going to infuriate general tiger time but i dont see a way out for roddick against d-pot. especially if d-pot manages to return well.

that being said, what does roddick have to lose. he will swing for the fences and play freely and see what develops.

do you think it might be close at least?

Now Robson breaks!  She serves at 4-5 int he second.  She trails a set.  Here's to hoping we can see a 3rd set!  Laura has not played well yet, she has at times, but not enough times.  She has hit an insane amount of errors so far...  If she can clean it up, and Stosur gets a little frustrated given the circumstances, Laura might be able to climb back into this match!!!
Good Luck on the Court!!!
