i am going to pick fed for the win today but i dont see how he can defeat nole in the final.

my pick for the title was fed about a month ago. now that pick is not looking like a certainty.

nole would have to be off and fed would have to play a clean match with very few errors.

Federer has never lost to Djokovic in a final. Still, there can always be a first time. We will see.

Federer has lost 3 finals this year, two that I think he gifted away.  Halle to friend Haas, and Basel to Del Potro who had lost 7 straight vs. Federer. The Olympics vs Murray was legit, as Federer was exhausted from beating Del Potro in a 36 game 3rd set.

Too bad, he might have have 78 titles already. He still needs one more to tie McEnroe at 77, though he has passed him for matches won.

agreed. fed should be sitting on 78-80 titles already.

also i am counting the silver medal as a title.

he was fairly well rested. he has not been playing nonstop like ferru and d-pot.

especially with that ultra efficient game he has. he should have gone after the basel and paris titles.

i think he held back to go full steam ahead at WTF.

she was here a while back for a few moments but evidently she leads a busy life now.

work and the relationship takes away quite a bit of time general masterclass. i think she has a new love or a relatively new love.

so she is enjoying life as she should.

Ahh, then that's good. Hopefully for her sake it is a good one!  Of course I always wish her well.

Winter is coming soon here.  Kids are waiting for the first snow and snowman building time. :)
Though we will be in England around Christmas and New Years time with family.

looking like a tiebreaker at the moment.

fed will have to nail the breaker in order to have a chance at winning this battle.

fed has now shifted the pressure to the other side of the net for the remainder of the match.

translation: he has a chance to snatch this battle.

first set was far more important for fed than for the younger murray.

fed gets his break.

now he has his chance to put this one away. all that is needed is to hold serve for the rest of the set.

Great commentary, general hercules. Thanks.  I was watching on Tv for once. :)
Federer started slowly, Murray well. Once Federer broke, it was definitely evenly played up to the tiebreaker. When Federer won that, the roof just about came off with the fan noise for Federer.  I think that might have unsettled Murray some.  In the second set Federer broke from 0-40 and Murray looked rattled from that point on and the result wasn't in doubt.

IF Federer can play anything like this tomorrow, Federer can take his 7th Masters Cup and 77th (all 7's) title. He seemed to really wake up today and it was definitely his best match of this tournament. But, it will be his 3rd match in 3 days. Let's see what happens. I hope for a good match.

I wish we had seen 3 tight sets of that tennis but Fed picked it up and Murray went the other way.  Hoping for a good one tomorrow.  Best of 5 tomorrow?
Good Luck on the Court!!!

it is do-able for fed. he has to play an extremely smart, tactical match.

first and foremost he has to be able to take care of his serve and keep the pressure on the other side of the net.

secondly he has to try to snatch the first set. maybe he can drag it into a breaker and snatch the breaker.

thirdly he has to be patient off the ground and wait for his chances to pull the trigger.
