3/3 on break points. He's usually like 3/13.
Then we will fight in the shade.

good picture warrior princess. you can tell the iron man has added some muscle mass.

general fed fan he did what he had to today. and you already know that you cant win if you cant break.

breaking back in the first set was critical as he had to have the first set. there is just no use letting the highlander linger around for 3 long sets.

Also this match sends the message to Murray that "no you will not have your way with me because I'm 31".
Then we will fight in the shade.

thanks for posting the stats. it is interesting to note that the more steady baseliner had more errors and fewer winners.

that is because iron man rushed him when he could. and because the iron man believed in his own ground game.

It's very simple CD: Roger is a better player than Murray and when he's playing well, Andy can't beat him

Murray had won 5/6 10+ shot rallies up until the tiebreaker at *3-2. Then it all turned around. It's amazing how easy it is to rob Murray of belief, even after he's won Olympics + US Open. I still feel the scars run deep in him. Those 3 consecutive grand slam losses to Nadal in 2011 had to hurt him real bad.
Then we will fight in the shade.

i am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fired up for battle tomorrow.

my day is made if the spaniards snatch the doubles title. go marc and marcel. just do it.

and then the iron man needs to do what the iron man does at WTF. and that is to terminate the opposition.

affirmative.

i could not agree more.

and the iron man even spotted him a good start today.

i like the highlander but highlander is no iron man when the iron man is doing his thing.

Not only spotted him an early break lead, then spotted him an early minibreak too.

All that said, Federer played on a different level towards the end of the first set and most of the second. Once the rhythm of his tennis grew, he was pretty much irresistible and Murray's tennis did not survive a brutal examination in a clinical finish.

The beast in Djokovic, meanwhile, has been stirred. Even as he was handing out chocolates to journalists after qualifying, one guessed the charity would end right there. The Christmas gift to his regular inquisitors was a nice gesture by a most interesting man but there will be no sentiment in the final.

i dont recall the highander being booed. i must have stepped away from the tele or switched channels for a minute. that is not too cool on the part of the fans.

i did miss the very last game which i knew fed would get. it was pretty much academic at that point.

i was also keeping an eye on 2 NFL games during the breaks. not actually watching them but checking scores.

Under added security because of death threats, Federer arrived on a Friday and discussed strategy with ATP player and board representatives till about 1 a.m. He practiced the next morning, spent about 7 hours in meetings with various representatives of the Grand Slams and still attended the player party Saturday night.

On Sunday evening, he hosted three hours of meetings in his hotel room with the Player Council, ATP executive staff, and U.S. Open executives -- all before he struck a match ball.

This guy is a 17 time GS champion, is married, has 2 children, does more advertising than anyone else on tour and still has time to do the work behind the scenes?  :scared:

Is there anything he doesn't do well?  :)>>>>

holy smokes. i dont know how he does it.
i think having his family around helps out a lot.
they probably take care of lot of the details concerning his travels. his mom probably takes care of his foundation. dad must manage the money.

but still he is doing a lot of different things which is impressive.

i hardly have enough time left after all my training.  and of course my rest and my relaxation during which i try to enjoy my sports with you folks and my friends here.

and i am single with almost zero responsibility.

he has it down to science. every single hour is accounted for well in advance.

I usually call him Idiot, Old Man or ******* but Iron Man has a nice ring to it  :lmao:

Another good nickname for the dude should be Terminator, 'cuz he comes back from the death and snaps lots of mouths shut with his tennis  :)>>>>

you should see all the names i call the clay warrior.

well you actually know them all since you have known me for years and years.

"moron" fits him pretty damn good right about now if you want my opinion.

did i mention that i am not happy with him? :))

Nor am I general.  When Clay Warrior King and Iron Man are at their best on their best surfaces, nobody can touch them, not even each other.  I've been hoping Nadal gets back soon on his beloved clay and gets RG #8.   I see he's been posting pics of himself in the gym again. I want to see pics of him on clay courts of Manacor hitting balls, even if he needs to use a special bench. He's got two strong arms, get out of the gym and onto the courts.  Latest post from his facebook:

Practicing hard! Every time I look more like
:) Vamosss!!

That's awesome, hopefully he'll be back to 100% level sometime in 2013. It's really not the same without him. Juan  Martin just doesn't cut it.
Then we will fight in the shade.

morning general masterclass, general fed fan, general shanks.

great pics general. keep them coming. i agree. it does not take much to stand there and hit endless forehands or volleys or even the serve. he could have even done that while sitting down. his knee is never as bad as muster`s knee.

he should have never missed a day of practice on clay courts.

lance armstrong would go for 50-60 mile bike rides after his heavy chemo therapies.

you saw how Muster let nothing stop him.
