anybody see this news:
Report: Nadal to be offered $1.2 million to play Vina del Mar PRINT THIS PAGE   A report in the Chilean newspaper La Tercera says the Vina de Mar tournament is planning to offer Rafael Nadal a $1.2 million appearance fee to play there. Vina del Mar, a clay-court event, is the first stop in Latin America’s ‘Golden Swing” and begins the week of February 4, right after the first round of Davis Cup.

Nadal, who has been out since Wimbledon due to a knee injury, will return to the tour at the beginning of the 2013 season in Doha. He also scheduled to play the Australian Open and is considering playing Davis Cup against Canada in Vancouver.

Nadal has said at various times this year that he would like to reduce the number of hard-court tournaments he plays to lessen the wear and tear on his knees. Nadal has already committed to playing Acapulco, which is also played on clay and begins on February 25.

The more clay the better for him.

Oz is now less than 30 days away.

doing great general. just relaxing right now.

i might so some work later. or i might put it off and watch some tennis on the tennis channel.

yes i do believe nadal is going to have to get off those damn hard courts. there is no shame in losing early on hard courts.

it will ensure a longer career and it may even help him capture 2 more slams on natural surfaces.

even nole practices on clay year around to protect his ground game, his knees, and his longevity in the sport.

i think a most likely scenario is 1 more french open and possible one more wimbledon but only if he wises up while there is still time.

he is hurting again because he cant stay off the bloody hard courts. he is in clear and obvious pain right now when he gets on the court.

Impossible!!!. I still expect some HC slams from him. His legs are not the same, however, if he can bring the USO 2010 serve and comes up with some new 1 tourney shots :rofl_2: like he used to everything's possible for him.

General FedFan must be partying somewhere.I skipped the drinking last night. :innocent: FedFan has to create the anti-moonball thread. Damn, we don't have enough Fed fans here. Well, Brick Top is a Djokovic fan, I guess he could create it too but then the oldschoolers would start screaming "Djokovic is a pusher!!" so it must be a Fedfan after all.

Yes. It could bring more Fed fans into the chat section. You see, a simple operation has to be performed by a Fed fan and there's not even 1 around. We have to change that. The Anti-Moonball Thread has the capacity to change that. It won't happen quickly but who knows. It will be a sign to radical Fed fans that they are welcome in the chat section.

no harm in trying different things to try to generate growth. :))

failure exists only in NOT trying any longer. :)

we have to be persistent-- diplomatically persistent in our efforts to invite folks here.

we cant regulate anybody`s feelings. all we can do is be nice to them and make sure they are made to feel welcome here.

Yes. Another reason we're in dire need of radical Fed fans is that kindness is good but too much kindness murders creativity. You see, Raferminator killed the link in her sig because masterclass and FedFan are too nice and she doesn't want to hurt their feelings. I mean WTF???? FedFan and masterclass are men after all.  I want to read her satirical blog but I can't because the link is dead. In addition, if there are no radical Fed fans around who will inspire people like Raferminator. The reverse is also true. Radical Rafa fans like Shankar inspire people  to write funny s**t like the Magician used to. His writings were really witty and funny if you don't take your Rafa fanboyism too seriously.

Now the problem is that on other sites they systematically killed creativity by repeatedly banning the creators. All the real characters grew bitter and hostile because their balls got stepped upon. Here they can be who they are and write some creative and entertaining stuff. With an Anti-Moonball Thread around they will know they're welcome here.

you make some outstanding points general nekromanta. :)

where the hell is raferminator anyway? she did say that she gets busy from time to time. lets hope she returns when nadal returns in 9 days.

and that is if nadal returns. i dont think he is going to be able to compete at abu dhabi. Oz looks difficult too.

in his current shape, he wont get past the first 2 rounds there. and he may compound the knee issue further.

by anyway hopefully referminator and ther others will start showing up once the tennis starts back up.

I'm sure she will. She's most active when it's grand slam time :)) Well, Rafa will probably suck at the AO but she likes Nole too :) and Muger will be there too so :grind dance:

Haha, my bike is freakin' funny :rofl_2: always laugh my head off when I look at it :hysterical:

Amber That chick cannot focus for 1 sec, unable to follow the simplest instructions, luckily for her the bank she works at is like a big funny family, when she screws up they won't fire her. I guess they keep her for free amusement :rofl_2:

BTW Check out the Gay Lounge, not many posts in it yet but it's already my fave thread. We're going to have lots of fun there. Just the capacity of that thread for all kindsa fun gives me thrills :rofl_2:
