great to see you queen emma. :)) i am burned out on bond movies but i hear that skyfall is quite good.

you got me on the others. i have not seen them.

You may want to try at least One Week, In The Valley of Elah and Afterwards. They should not disappoint. In fact, all of them are pretty good but those three should be right up your alley. I like any movie as long as it’s made and acted very well. How the story is told is very important.

I am still debating on Skyfall!

hello queen emma the invincible. :))

i will most certainly check that one out.

i agree. great storyline is critical. and then great actors can bring it to life.

I have nothing to contribute here as .... I don't go to the movies!  I rather read the book than see the movie. :rofl_2:

Hi Emma,

I downloaded "I Am Legend" off veehd.com a few days ago when I found that Richard Matheson was the writer of the original book. I am not sure if I should read the novel first or see the movie, but he wrote a ton of great Short Stories that have become GREAT movies including one I would give 10/10 called "The Box". Anyway, I guess this book (I Am Legend) is the book behind "The Omega Man", "night of the Living Dead", and the whole genre of Zomie or Last Man on Earth movies. Let me know how good that movie is and if you have read the book. Thanks!

The book is always going to be better than the movie because the length of the movie can't be too long; therefore, it can't afford to cover everything in the book and sometimes, it tends to leave out the crucial details. If you read the book first, then you will be disappointed with the movie, but then again, the ideal thing to do is to read the book first.

I liked the movie but it didn't live up to my expectations. I thought though that it had great potential but in the end, it sort of fell into the same trend of Hollywood's typical mainstream. Judging by the title, you can always guess the ending and I wish it had offered more. I didn't read the book because I am into non-fiction so I prefer to watch the movis instead that are taken from pure fiction. That saves me the trouble of reading the books that can take up a lot of your time.

Ok, thanks for the warning. I haven't watched it yet.  I watched half of the "The House of the Devil" the other night based on excellent reviews and this one really had me in suspense. I am going to watch the end of that movie this weekend.

Hmmmm.... I thought I could think of a couple of occassions where a Movie improved upon or at least was comprebable to the book. Granted, it rarely occurs. But, maybe the Godfather movies are an example. Or "Aguire: Wrath of God"? Or movies made from Short Stories instead of novels such as "The Box" or "The Shawhank Redemption"?

I just watched it before 30 mints and I am still in shock  :confused1: This movie is clearly not for everyone. I was expecting an epic battle movie about Vikings (as my mistake was to not check who's the director) and hell was I mistaken. What was delivered was an astonishing movie about humanity. In my humble opinion this is a masterpiece, despite being visually and acoustically amazing it is an in-depth look into mankind as it is rarely found. There is a lot in this movie which in itself is amazing when one is looking on the minimal use of words.A psycho-trip adventure. I've never been this anxious watching a movie. The visuals hold your attention, the gore holds your appreciation, the plot keeps your interest.  :))

i never watched "lord of the rings" and never plan to watch it in the future either.........some movies no matter how good they may be just don't seem good to me if their first look is not that appealing........

first look is very important for me to build interest in any movie........firstly the movie poster needs to be top notch........secondly the trailer needs to be spell out something different from other movies.........

i heard that "life of pi" is brilliant........i am planning to see that movie in the next few weeks........

Marian Vajda to Novak Djokovic, "I saw you beat that man like I never saw no man get beat before, and the man KEPT COMING AFTER YOU! Now we don't need no man like that in our lives."

i demand french open to be renamed RAFAEL GARROS
