More of my odd tastes, but this one is not my favorite from Portishead, although it is a great song, but probably also the most well known:

Nice! I like the bluesy jazzy stuff :) Gonna check out more songs from Portishead.

Check this out. A very simple song from The Gathering from the times before they went prog. They're one of the fav bands of Trey Azagthoth too :))

I LOVE The Gathering!
Nekrormanta, did you ever post in that Prog Music thread? I posted hundreds of times in "What are you listening to now?", but also posted a few in that thread including one from the Gathering in 2011 I believe. Here is one of my favorites. I will go and read this thread from the start to get a gist of what genres other people are currently listening to (yours seem all over the place like mine  :rofl_2: ); my Musical Tastes run the Spectrum of just about every Genre and Country.

I think I never posted in the prog music thread. I listen to and play some prog rock/metal but it's not my thing. About my musical taste: I'm with Trey Azagthoth, I like music which comes naturally, with feeling and groove and swing. When it comes to progression I prefer it in the form of exotic or custom scales integrated into the music, but it ain't worth s**t if the natural talent and the natural flow isn't there. In addition, I like to listen to all kinds of oldies, even very cheesy stuff like Goombay Dance Band, I don't care how "uncool" it is as long as it works for me :))

Nice thread!  I love music.  It's interesting looking at some previous post because there are a lot of artist I have never heard of.  For me... I'm polar opposite...

My 2 favorite musical 'acts' are:

1.  The Bee Gees (loved Barry Gibb growing up)
2.  Take 6 (gospel/jazz group)

My favorite band (Radiohead)

 :king:
I LOVE Radiohead too! What a great band.Favorte album by them is still "The Bends". My favorite musical artist is probably Bjork and the Sugarcubes at least in the past. I have lately been listening to the Comssat Angels and Portishead. I also like RIOT Grrrl bands quite a bit. I also love the 60's music, doesn't everyone? But here are the Sugarcubes:

You have great taste in music Machael, I also like Bjork and alternative/indie music in general. About Radiohead it is hard for me to chose one album, but if it has to be one than its "In Rainbows"
