unseeded players that no-one wants to draw:

- Dimitrov
- Monfils
- Tomic
- Paire

forget about Goffin, Davydenko and Hewitt

add Gilles Muller, Ryan Harrison and Rosol as wildcards. All in looks like the first couple of rounds will very weak which is a shame. After Isner's withdrawal everyone gets bumped a seed which means Jersey gets the 24th seed. Therefore he won't be able to face the big 3 in the thrid round which ends our hopes of seeing a blockbuster first weekend match there.Only Baghdatis can provide as the other lower seeds are very week (Granollers Seriously! - he is fodder). Gone are the days when middle weekend matches like Federer/Roddick vs Safin, Gonzalez-Gasquet take place. Nishikori gets bumped to number 16 which also means he will miss what could be a potentially intriguing match with a higher seed. Isner's injury really messed things up here, he will be missed, like Roddick. First time in ages these two won't be here.

Lets look at the injuries...so far (hopefully guys like Monaco and Tipsaveric don't pull out)

Fish - gets a pass. Nothing he can do there
Soderling - same thing
Roddick - retired
Nadal - could have played imo, i know he wants to miss (doesn't believe he can win) but an appearance would have been nice
Nalbandian - no reason why he isn't playing. Disgraceful
Isner - See Nadal. Should be playing. Who cares about Davis-Cup. Poor timing to have it right after a slam. Notice to absences due to that comp
Zopp - who cares

Blake vs Young in qualies tomorrow. I will be there, what a match! draw as well. Some thing i am hoping for...

Baghdatis lands in Tsonga's quarter
Hewitt gets Murray early on
Harrison draws Murray again. Like that match up.
Djokovic vs Rosol round one.
Monfils gets Federer in opening rounds. Or Dimitrov gets Federer
Dimitrov DOESN"T get either Djokovic or Murray
Mathieu vs Tsonga round one
Tomic vs Matosevic round two.
Raonic vs Monfils
Haas vs cilic scheduled to play round 3
davydenko vs Del-potro early on
delpotro to play another argentine
simon vs dolgopolov round 3
lopez vs Del-potro early on
fognini vs Monatanes

can't wait till tomorrow to see the draw. I want Nole or Murray (Fed too) to 'meet' with Tomic and destroy his brat a$$. I want this so badly  :).

I also hope Nole and Murray will not meet before the final.
I would love to see Hewitt go deep. same with Dimitrov.

I want Almagro to be out in R1 because Babs likes him  :)~
I want to win lottery  :)>>>>, just need some extra cash  :rasta:

I always need to have someone to dislike on the tennis tour and that has been rather hard lately.  :mad1:

But it looks like Bernard Tomic is moving into that place, especially as he seems to be doing well in Sydney.   :scared:

It is a curious phenomenon in life that personality types stay more or less the same as individual people move in and eventually out of them.  :big boss:

Well, it's Roger/Murray on the same side;  and Novak/Ferrer on the same side.

I think that's got conpiracy written all over it but we'll have to wait until sid weighs in and clears things up.

LOL at Alex.  :)

:rofl_2:    To use a favoured word of some,  the draw has "cakewalk" emblazoned on the Djokovic side!!    :rofl_2:

To be serious for a moment, Djokovic was my pick for the title before & this draw cements it for him in my view. He ought to be fresh as a daisy for the final.  Federer / Murray have more of a challenge, which should provide some good matches.

Isner is out - withdrawn.

I just watched James Blake lose to Donald Young... :yuk:  I was pulling for James...but to no avail.  He lost in straight sets.

It could be Murray vs Del Potro....vs Federer...vs Djokovic.... Tough road.  I hope it won't get to that though. ..-)

I have always liked Paul henri-Mathieu.  He got a terrible draw getting Djoko in rd 1!  :(
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

I think the French have got a case!  ;-()

All in Roger's quarter:

1R Tsonga (FRA) v. Llodra (FRA)

Potential 2R Ouanna (FRA)  v. Gasquet (FRA)

Potential 3R Tsonga v. Gasquet

1R Paire (FRA) v. Roger

Also 1R Djokovic v. PHM (FRA). Benetteau (FRA) got a nice draw in Tipsaravic's quarter, and Chardy (FRA) and Simon (FRA) did alright in Murray's quarter. Monfils (FRA), of all people, got the best draw of all, but he's also in Murray's quarter. As a group, none have a good chance of getting past 4R. I have little belief in Tsonga these days.

ouch, really tough draw for Fed (probably the most difficult one ever btw). Murray's path, ouch too ...

Djokovic, easy, very easy ... I don't remember that he's ever had such an easy draw at slams before. Just let him show up in the final, not sure why even bother playing early rounds  :)).

MTF is exploding right now, they think the draw is 100% rigged  :rofl_2: ... oh boy

Donald Young beat James Blake in the second round of the pre-qualifying.  If he wins in the third; he is in!

poor draw imo. Tipsaveric vs Hewitt and Monfils vs Dolgo i like those but outside of then there is nothing? only feature match in round 2 would be Davydenko vs Federer. Shaping up to be the most uninspiring round two ever, cheers John Isner! his absence really created holes in the draw such as messing around seeds.

Dimitrov's draw annoys me. It's boring and will most likely take place on the outer courts. I for whatever reason why depseratly holding out for the Federer blockbuster in round one or two...ah well it was not meant to be.

Despite being the Australian Open be Grand Slam of surprise, Djokovic, Federer or Murray should win the title, I do not see anyone able to beat them. I think Djokovic and Federer must make the final.

Rogers draw looks ok but Raonic could be alkward, winner might have Tsonga looking forward to this match.Djokovic has a dream draw & only Birdman might make things alkward.Ferrer should go deep but Ivo might be alkward, also Hewitt looks like he playing his better tennis once more, but has Tipsarevic, that's a hard match for both.Murray could face Monfils then potty or Cilic.Potty could lose to Cilic he's not a great draw for him.Murray does not always start quick & might need 4 sets to get rid of Haase.

I'm ready for it to start too. Directv already said they will have the 6 channels ready to go on Sunday!

My prediction is that none of the players who are currently playing the tournaments this week will go deep in the Upcoming Slam.
