So Alex is this time for Murray to win back 2 back Slams
who knows my friend? it's possible. Nole still looks the best but, but butt  :)). I'd be happy if Nole or Murray manage to win. It's just funny that everyone (journalists, experts) is convinced 100% that Nole will take the AO. there is so much hype.

I hope Nole & Murray will be in the final, atm i think these are the 2 to beat. Why cos Nole has won the last 2 @ Ozz & Murray getting his first Slam @USO.Ivan Lendl is working his magic with Murray & he might lift his second Slam from winning his first one.

(Roger Federer couldn't do it. It was beyond Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic, too. Pete Sampras, Bjorn Borg, Andre Agassi, Boris Becker, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Ivan Lendl, and every other Hollywood name of modern times, all fell short.)

Sid,
my dream final would be Nole/Muzza. Murray has a bit tougher draw but I still think he'll make it  :).

Roger & Murray both have tougher draws than Nole this time.Nole looks a lock for the Final this time, unless a shock that someone in his side plays out of there skin.I also know if Roger plays his best tennis then he can beat Murray. If thay do meet in SF both could knacker the other for the Final,it would have been better if Nadal was in to even things up.Who ever wins i feel it will be Nole Murray or Roger.

one thing that worries me is that Muzza has never def. Fed at any slams. It's gonna be tough, but there is first time for everything. Andy def. Nole at the USO last year, so why not? I know we are all guessing atm. Nole, with that easy draw, still don't know ... you need some tough matches, we'll see

Will be interesting to see how tennis fandom responds to this pair if it becomes a duopoly.

Since when did actors start to play at Slams?  :confused1:

I'm not to worried about that this time Alex.In training in Miami Murray broke all his old records,so we know he is extra fit & ready for whoever comes along. Now Murray has one Slam under his belt,he's going to be even more hungery to take this one.Just over 12 hours & this Slam will be under way :)

Edit to delete my rant.  I thoroughly enjoyed it though!

In response to your comment Babblelot, I would be pleased to see the eminently decent & likeable Murray excel.  I hope he can match Djokovic in sharing the spoils. At the moment, it looks very much like domination by Djokovic.

Djokovic is the strong favourite with Paddy Power at even money while Murray is an 11-4 shot and you can get 5-1 on Federer. Behind them, Juan Martin Del Potro (in Murray’s quarter) is 18-1 and David Ferrer (a prospective semi-final opponent for Djokovic) is 25-1. Tomic and Tomas Berdych are both 40-1 but it’s so hard to go for an outsider because the top three are so strong. And seeing two of them go out is very tough.
I think it will come down to Djokovic and Murray, as it did in New York, and as happened there, I think Murray has the beating of his old friend. Some of it will depend on how tough his path to that point is, but if he can avoid the epic five-setters, then he should be fit enough to give it a huge go. At 11-4 he is not incredible value, but he is better than the evens on Djokovic.

Sid,
sorry to announce this to you, but it ain't gonna be Nole or Murray ... it's Tomic ... voices in my head just told me so :innocent:. guys just google it, this kid is so full of sh!t ... I just can't believe it  :\.

not sure I like all of this hype around Novak. it's too much, it's everywhere (like just give him the freaking trophy) ... I might be a koo koo  fan, but it was much better when nobody has been paying too much attention to him back in 2005/06  :paper bag:

Fed will take care of all the hype.

Fed can also take over #1.

If Djokovic does well but doesn't win he'll be a #1 without holding a slam crown.  :thumb-down:

It's just past 9AM Australia.

The AO website is very promising. Looks like they are doing it through ESPN3 which may be an alternative/option.
