No. Haase's potential was overestimated IMO.

There was a strange game at 4-1 with Murray serving. Haase was up 0-40 & it went to a number of deuces with Murray finally winning it. He can play great shots, but seems to lack a game plan. One of the comms described him accurately as wild.  I'd like to see him play Dolgopolov.  I like wild but not bonkers.
Haase couldn't hold serve & the first set went to Murray 6-3.     

EDIT : Murray up 3-1 & serving. He looks relaxed & just going about his business. A good start from him requiring little more than to keep his head.  This will be over in straights & I'll be surprised if RH wins more than another couple of games. 

Babblelot,  what are the chances of your man Paire getting past Federer?

I'm just waiting for Roger's match to start.  It might be a tough one for him since he hasn't played any warm-up tournaments/matches... But I hope he can come through.

Re: Federer / Paire, quite so Babblelot.  I'll try to stay up but the time difference is a killer.  i've got to be reasonably coherent at work!

Me too.  But rather inconveniently, work gets in the way of my owl-fest!   I'm sure you're pleased with Murray's start here. He's up 4-3 & serving in the 3rd set. The comms were saying that this match would be more of a challenge than his next one, which makes the mind boggle somewhat, but a chance to settle in nicely is just what the doctor ordered.  Enjoy the rest of what you see. I'm calling it a night.

Well, Paire looked comfortable on the court for the first few games. Now Fed's got control of his head and he doesn't know what to think.
