This certainly didn't end the way I expected when I turned off the lights at the end of the second set.  :scared:

Sorry that I missed the finish but I had to get some sleep and had to choose one match or the other and I certainly would not have if I stayed.

Looking forward to the Djokovic - Berdych game coming up.

Looks breezey out there. Could affect Berdych's high ball toss.

If Berdych is going to rely on 2nd serves he is surely going to be eaten . . . without salt !!

Yeah, that set rivalled the Ferrer-Almagro 3rd set in as bad as WTA. 6-1, 20 minutes!

:shocking: things are a bit more competitive now with Berdych having a break at 3 - 2.

false dawn, methinks. Berdych down a double break in the third.  :mad1:

All credit to Djokovic... he is playing at a great level... very agressive and quick... I think he didn't want any surprises and brought his A game against Berdych...

Berdych is such a dissapointment.. he was suppossed to be the next big thing back 4 or 5 years ago and he hasn't accomplished anything... He can play like a top 10 one day a top 20 on the next and go far behind a top 100 the very next day... he is such a dissapointment...

Anyway, I am glad to see him out of the tournament, playing like he is playing today he deserved going out even earlier in the tournament... huge dissapointment!! Go home Berdych and learn to play against the top without crapping your pants...

Congratulations to Novak!!! Deserved win!! He did play amazing and looked at times almost unstoppable... although with Stan's match and this second set, he certainly seems "beatable" by a top gun.. we'll see!!

Great interview afterwards.. I like Novak's interviews.. he is really charismatic and always playing around, it's a nice personality to have on tour!! Seems like a really cool dude!!!

Anyway, when asked about Thomas, he said something that I was thinking all along he said: "you know Thomas, he has a big serve, big game and WHEN HE IS ON he can take any guy on any day"... And that is the problem with Berdych, WHEN HE IS ON, he is great, unfortunately he is not ON most of the times against top players, kind of like his mindset is elsewhere when playing the top guns...

Nole, more than say, Roger, makes Tomas go for the lines..  :rofl_2:
Watching Nole pass Berdych from metres behind the baseline, at full stretch, is to watch an acrobat at work.. Birdman has power, but how hard do you have to whack the fuzzy yellow thing before you can win a point against the mind-boggling defense of Novak.. Also, like any bully on the tennis court, Tomas likes the ball short and in his strike zone, so he can get his long arms and powerful shoulders into play.. Unfortunately, Djokovic is super at returning the ball with velocity and depth, moving Tomas from side to side, giving him no time.. Also, the Djoker slice is very effective, in denying the Czech any rhythm.. Yes, Tomas has improved in the forecourt, but he is not as effective when he has to generate the pace.. All things considered, Tomas did well to win the 2nd set, but reverted to being Novak's favourite punching bag, for the rest of the match.. Novak to win this trophy.  :)

Djokovic's defense can frustrate any player playing outside his comfort zone which is the case with any player not called Federer, Nadal or Murray. Though today he looked reserved and less emotional he was playing extremely well without given the notion of having played a marathon match the previous game.
As much I would have liked a player to challenge Djokovic for the final spot . . . . I think Ferrer's time is overdue . . . should have been sent packing today but because of one of the most mental breakdown in men's tennis he was spared . . . I totally abhor his tennis as I hate anybody who lives by other' mistakes.
Murray will have no problems dispatching Chardy . . . Federer's match will be tricky . . . Tsonga seems to have a penchant for playing the big names and feeds of the crowd . . . so Federer will have to watch it . . . give Tsonga a chance and every serve he hits is huge and every forehand is a winner . . .
