I haven't watched any of the womens matches, or checked proceedings on day one. Anyway, here is the Schedule of play for the 15th January:

Carla stretches her lead over Sara 5-2 (one break) but Sabine takes a 2 break lead on Caro. Lisicki serving for the 1st set at 5-2.

I was just watching the Wozniacki match. Lisicki plays with style & won the first set comfortably. Has CW got the will to win the second?

Whoa! Lisicki took the 1st set so easily I turned away. Now it's Wozniacki up 4-1 in the second.

Suarez-Errani are getting into some long rallies. 1-1 now Suarez up 1-0 sets.

CW won the 2nd set 6-3. Lisicki played some excellent tennis in the 9th game & took it to several deuces & break points. CW did well to stay focused.

#7 seed is out! Sara made it to the QF in 2012

An upset on paper, but Suarez Navarro is a top player when she's healthy. And she was a QF here in 2009 taking out Venus along the way.
