Proved me wrong too.  When it came down to the match points she stayed strong.  Very interesting.  This should boost her confidence big time for future matches.  She has her hands full in the next match, but this will be an incredible experience for her!

Sharapova is suddenly looking mediocre (her natural state). If someone had never watched tennis and saw Sharapova's previous results, he would have thought she was a very good player only to later realise that the WTA is just a collection of club players.

Med, girls are so unpredictable (talking about tennis btw  :))). I'm watching this match because I have nothing else to do.  :innocent:. Last time I was really interested in girls playing tennis was the Seles/Graf era ... well Henin/Williams was fun but there was something missing, Serena and Venus got bored with tennis, playing when they feel like it ...

anyway, huge congrats to Li Na. Great win. Sharapova was pretty much clueless. Li Na is hilarious, her interviews are out of this world.

Li Na took it to Maria. Everyone was saying how Maria was blowing through her matches, but Li Na have played great too and I think her draw was a little bit more difficult than Maria's. anyway, congrats to her and her fans.

I can't take it any more. Azarenka should be banned from tennis because of that bizarre grunting. the most annoying player ever  :\. like whatever. Hoping for Stephens to win this somehow.
