Djokovic is pretty solid for awhile at #1.
But Murray looks to pass Fed soon.

Yes, Djokovic appears to be solid at least until the later stages of the season.

Race for #2 is on. If Federer gets more results like Rotterdam, Murray should pass him uneventfully pretty soon. Hopefully he won't and we'll have some excitement over it.

That would be interesting!  Murray chances on winning his first French Open just may happen if this occurs.  His opponent will be very tired and hopeful; Murray will be less in the final!

If you really want to be scared you can envision a marathon QF Djokovic - Nadal encounter a la Madrid 2009 only with two more sets, winner meets Federer and still manages to completely exhaust him, leaving the door open for the second finalist....

I think tennis is getting boring for me. No surprises anymore. No new faces who is consistent. So many smooth, nice speaking guys there. Federer obviously hiding under a facade and always wanting to be nice. Djokovic trying desperately to be liked, hugging everybody and really for me its too much overdone. Nadal always saying he wants to improve. After the 90s this new attitude was welcomed but now its too monotonous. There's no nasty guy out there !! I really want to see a Mohamed Ali type of player who talks trash and is really good !! I'm really surprised how you guys here keep your passion all this long...

Med, I get your point, but you will not see 'tennis Ali' any times soon ... I suggest you start cheering for Tomic the GOAT ... it's too bad he is not intelligent enough to be a bad boy, but hey you could try and you never know

I guess we're looking for different things. I don't need nasty guy personalities. Always rooted against them and didn't miss them when they retired.

For me personally, the last decade has been the best one. And I've followed tennis since 1980.

I agree some new names should start doing more, though. It's not good to have Del Potro as the youngest candidate to achieve anything when he's 24 now.

I'm hoping Del Potro moves into the #4 spot before long.
He has tournaments lined up for weeks so has a chance for plenty of points.

Why are you still counting Rotterdam? I feel it has been relatively obvious what happened there for a while, at least as far as Federer and Murray are concerned.

Sid..if Andy gets to #2, good for him.  Roger is in a different stage in his tennis right now.  He even said the rankings were more important to him last year when he had a chance to break Pete's record for #1 and that this year the rankings are not a priority.  So hey...if Murray gets the #2 ranking...then congratulations.  It's not up on the 'high list' in my book with Roger these days either.  I'll let you and Alex duke it out!

Sid, congrats to Andy, rankings do not lie. it is what it is. I saw this coming.

As for Fed he is taking it easy. He is older, has kids etc. he has nothing really to prove to anybody anymore. anything he wins nowadays is just a bonus.
