I would hate to steal Javi's thunder, but I do know the answer. I'll let Javi answer it though  :))

ok this is a more complex question:

1. who is the first player
2. who is the 2nd player

3. and what do the last 2 players have in common?

well i happen to recall that he does wear those clownish clothes and he does all those worm like moves on the court.

so he is comfortable looking like a color blind circus clown on the court.

actually you are not going to find anybody faster on the draw here then general javier the fearless. and then general freaky is pretty fast also.

i just guess. either i know or i dont.

I know one of them. It's the middle one that looks like Denis Istomin's father.

we will give others a chance before revealing the answers.

the last one is going to be tough and easy at the same time: easy because they both must have played at the same time and were at finalists in the same tournament.

i read that both also practiced 6-8 hours a day. gottfried--the american on the left---even practiced on his wedding day. he never ever missed a day from what i read.

so you see this is going to be one hell of a thread general freaky. people are also brushing up on their tennis history.

this is a cool place for folks to visit.

patrick rafter is correct. he won the u.s. open.

the second one is from the same country as radek stepanek. he was 6 foot 4 and had one hell of  a backhand. he used to own johnny mac if i remember reading correctly. general markus may have to confirm that for us or i will eventually look it up.

he was so damed fast for a big guy that they used to call him the "big cat".
