vilas is right. the other one is brian gottfried. very hard to know that one unless you happen to remember some of the tennis history.
 
i will have to start reading again since i am forgetting it as fast as i read it. gottfried was basically a doubles specialist but he worked so damned hard on his game that he managed to make the final of RG.
 
he played doubles with raul ramirez of mexico. they were ranked pretty high like in the top 5 but i forget the exact rank.
 
ramirez must have been a talented mexiacn as he was ranked in the top 5 in the world both in singles and doubles.

that has never happened before. no era has ever produced 3 all time greats at the same time that had as many slams as these 3 do.

I am slightly handicapped here by not being able to see the pictures....as for Mecir, he is not from Stepanek's country. Mecir is Slovak, Stepanek Czech. But it is true they were countrymen when the former was active. I remember Mecir beating McEnroe on at least a couple of occasions, but must admit their total H2H is unknown to me.

I'm getting a "403 - something something forbidden" message instead of pictures. Still am. Makes it even more difficult than usual to guess. Not that I've had much luck with the images I was able to see....
