tennis trivia question:

what was the first serve percentage for roger in that match he lost to fillipo volandri at the rome masters a few years ago?

i think it was either in 2007 or 2008.

Not that one, because it stuck out like a sore thumb. I am a Fed fan, after all. Ask me about his 1st serve percentage in any of the 17 slams wins, however, and all I have is an approximation.

True, what's more surprising is the amount of times he lost serve. Not that it mattered.....

the great manolo orantes--called the master of spin and placement--- won the u.s. open in 1975.

he beat 2 u.s.open champions in succession: one who was an ex u.s.open champ and the other who would be the future u.s. open champ.

who were those 2 players he beat? :gleam: :)>>>> :)>>>> :)>>>>

Trying again, answering the real question this time.

1) Connors, Sampras, so 2. My original anwer before I stupidly started editing. Still think I forgot someone, though.

2) Still yes, still 1974

geenral markus we are going all the way back to 1938.

so you would have to conclude that don budge was one of them. and then came dick savit.

and connors in 1974 if i am not mistaken.

I see! Didn't realize that, good to know. Budge I would have remembered. Savit I would not.
