Great match that one, have it on dvd. We didn't have cable tv until the late 80s and back then dutch television only showed the 2nd week from RG and Wimbledon. No Melbourne or New York. Dutch atp events were shown, but not much and belgian tv had the ECC Championship in Antwerp, the one with the diamond racket. In '88 I could watch a lot more because of cable tv  :)

Dutch TV was better than Norwegian TV. They showed only Wimbledon final, if you were lucky. But I live close to Sweden and we could see Swedish TV. They sent more - not surprising given their success at the time. They didn't send Australian Open, though.

Norwegian TV still only sends Wimbledon final. Really a shame. But not a problem anymore.

Do Haase/Sijsling play their GS SF tonight?

No, tonight is the two remaining QFs.

See a dude who knows his Dutch! Goedenavond Markus.

As far as my Norwegian goes, I can only say 'Skól, or whoever you write it' and 'jag elsker dig'

Good, I think everyone likes you so far. How did you get that populair?  :)) must have been your exquisite posting style.

I can't speak much, but I know a tiny bit. As for your Norwegian....the word you're looking for is "Skål". The "å" is a difficult one. Can also be written "aa". As for "Jag elsker dig" that is Swedish, not Norwegian. Similar language but not identical. Same in Norwegian would be "Jeg elsker deg".

How did I get popular? I really don't know. I don't expect to be. I try to be myself and to accept others as they are. Others will be the judges on whether I succeed. Looking good so far, I guess, but any time someone could come along and show dissatisfaction on seeing me here. I'm not universally popular on MTF or any other place I've posted. But I tend to get along just fine with most.

Where did you learn that? Have you visited the Netherlands before? And do you also speak a little bit of Spanish?
I have never been to Norway but chances are high that I visit Oslo in 3 weeks time for a long weekend. Where in Norway are you from?

Great mindset, just be yourself over here and it will all turn out great. You should also join us with the FITD game. Maybe it's an idea we start a Suicide Tennis game ourselves over here.
Fill In The Draw @ T4U
Ranking: #1 (High: #1)
Titles: 7 [Australian Open, Auckland, Zagreb, San Jose, Marseille, Delray Beach & MS Monte Carlo]

Greetings to everyone in the Castle  :))

This is my first post here, have posted some in the MTF Castle, though. Quite recently - so after the time of those of you here that used to be there. Some will still recognize me, I guess, but I won't be offended if you don't.

I was told this is where the action is on the forum  :)

welcome to the castle Litotes. great to see you here mate.

post away and have a blast. just make yourself at home.

you can call me samson. :))

I've only been to the Netherlands once, but I have a couple of Dutch friends who - like me - are coin collectors. I registered on Marktplaats.nl to see if I could get hold of a few old Dutch coins and picked up a few words in the process. I'm not active there now, haven't got enough time to pursue coin collecting atm. As for Spanish, I know basically nothing, save for the most common phrases you can hear in films. But my mother studied the language and was quite proficient. She was a language teacher.

FITD is somewhat too extensive for me. Suicide is better - just one match each day. But it's more fun with a lot of people and existing rankings you can climb (at least I think so), so getting started will be a challenge.

I'm from Fredrikstad, 100 kilometers due south of Oslo. Only about 40 kilometers from the Swedish border. Which region are you residing in? Zuid- or Noord-Holland, or one of the others?

The rich get richer. How many more slams does Fed need?  ..-)

I want 3 more, then he can retire  :))

Nah, you will never be satisfied. When he wins #20, then you will demand #21. What more does the great man have to prove?
Then we will fight in the shade.

Thanks, Samson  :) I remember you well from MTF but I don't suppose you remember me. You were very much more visible there in our time together, I was quite new then. I regretted seeing you banned and was delighted to hear of your presence here   :)
