i saw this list on the internet. def leppard should be getting more respect.

Plenty of familiar names there. I know a bit of metal myself.

Fun fact - Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast" includes a common fallacy. The number of the beast is not - in fact - 666. It is 616. The first one was a translating error.....Arameic is a difficult language.

Guys I can't get enough of Metallica.

Which is your favourite song from them? They're not my favourites, but I enjoyed "Sad but True" and "Enter Sandman".

hola general titotes. its the time zone that is affecting us here. americans and the canadians are having a hard time catching some of these matches.

i saw the first set but there was really now use. i should have gone to sleep.

it was no contest.

what is your take on the roger vs murray battle today? it is a night match also.

Hola General Samson. Yes, time zones will be a drag at least some of the time. For Australian Open, the final days are much better here, starting early morning instead of in the dead of night, but of course - our gain is North Americas loss.

Yes, a Djokovic win was always in the cards, and him playing well at the same time Ferrer was suboptimal produced a rout. We really need Nadal back to have a decent shot at getting two competitive SFs. One can only hope he'll get drawn into Ferrer's quarter when he does return, a top-4 ranking seems a long way off at the moment. If he doesn't, it will at least make for an unusually interesting QF or two.

Fed vs. Murray is IMO quite open, I am going with Federer to win but only marginally. He needs to play better than against Tsonga but he rarely plays badly two matches in a row. In fact, he's won the next match in 11 of the last 12 occasions he won a five-setter in a slam (except finals). Still, not many of those 11 had an opponent as difficult as Murray so one shouldn't read too much into that stat. I'm more concerned - on Murray's behalf - that he hasn't been tested yet. First test for Djoko and Fed nearly went wrong. Murray will - most probably - get his first test against a yet more difficult opponent. Should be interesting to say the least. Looking forward to it  :)

ferru does have some win over nole but that was before nole was nole.

even improved ferru has zero chance against current nole.

as i suggested yesterday, nole is the only player on the planet that has deadly finishing power of damn near everything now:

1. deadly finishing power off the backhand. and it is like a machine.

2. forehand

3. the serve

4. return. it is probably the greatest return the game has ever seen and he can kill you with it.

5. and he kills you with his fitness.

ferru is actually lucky he got 5 games.

right now i dont know how you beat nole.

Ferrer's H2H wins are mainly on clay. Also two WTFs. One way back an the other in 2011, when Djoko was really tired after a great season. I doubt he'll ever get another.

Djoko is pretty complete, that's for sure. But he's not as good every day. His match against Wawrinka proves this. If he doesn't have a good day in the final he can lose even on HC, like he did in US Open. But he starts as favourite for sure, regardless of SF #2.

nole even looks comfortable at the net these days.

its going to be a tall order for anybody. lets see how it plays out.

fed has the perfect game to counter his game but fed is not young anymore.

if the final is between nole and murray then it will be for the ultimate hard court supremacy for these current times.

nole win might set murray back in the order. murray win takes away the hard court domination from nole.

"One" is their best song, although "Harvester of Sorrow" is pretty close. Also I can't fault "Damage Inc" for pure thrashy goodness.

What I like about Metallica songs are the length, amount of thematic material, time changes, polyrythyms and the lack of sappy lyrics.
