soy protein powder is also being talked about a great deal in sports medicine circles. it too has immense health benefits. i have at least 1 soy protein shake a day.

and as i have suggested, i also use 2 tea spoons in my bowl of oats. soy protein powder is also very cheap Bettsy.

here check out the benefits of soy:

5 Benefits of Soy Protein for the Body Ads by Google10 Foods you must not eat Cut down a bit of stomach fat every day by never eating these 10 foods. Trimdownclub.comLower Your Blood Pressure Non Drug. No Side Effects. Natural. Proven to Work in 9 Clinical Trials RESPeRATE.com/Lower_BP_Naturally5) Foods you must not eat Cut down a bit of stomach fat every day by never eating these 5 foods. Thehealthywaydiet.com Soy protein has been proven to be a very beneficial addition to any diet because of the positive effect it has on the human body. Here are 5 benefits of soy protein for the body:
1. Acts as a Substitute for Meat Protein

Soy protein is a viable substitution for the protein normally gained by eating meats. While meat is normally associated with fat content, soy protein is not. Also, soy protein contains all the amino acids gained from eating meat, which are an important part of reducing fat and maintaining healthy muscles . These amino acids are also an integral part of insulin production in the body.
2. Soy Protein Helps Reduce LDL    Cholesterol
The FDA has shown that a diet which includes at    least 4 servings of soy protein each day plays a part in reducing    the bad cholesterol, known as LDL cholesterol, by up to 10%. On the    same note, the good cholesterol, HDL cholesterol is not reduced by    adding the 4 servings of soy protein each day. Studies have shown    that soy protein attacks the plasma in LDL cholesterol while not    affecting HDL cholesterol in any way.
3. Soy Protein Reduces the Risk Of    Heart Disease
As mentioned, soy protein does not reduce the    amount of HDL cholesterol at all, but it does reduce the bad kind,    LDL cholesterol. Doctors say a drop of 1% in cholesterol amounts    works out to about a 2% drop in the risk of heart disease. The    health benefits of this alone makes a strong case for adding soy    protein to the diet. Including soy protein in the diet on a regular    basis will continue to lower cholesterol over time, producing    healthier veins, blood flow and a healthier heart.
4. Soy Protein Helps Make Other    Food More Effective
Because of the amino acids found in soy    protein products, such as tofu and soy milk, other foods that enter    the body are able to be used more effectively and processed into    energy. There are a number of amino acids we can only obtain from    food sources and soy protein contains many of these which allows us    to get the full benefits from other foods.

5. Soy Protein Helps Reduce Other Risks
It is believed    that soy protein can also help in reducing other health related    risks, some of which are very serious. Soy protein aids in reducing    the risk of getting colon cancer, prostate cancer and even    osteoporoses. The FDA, in October of 1999 released a study that showed how soy protein can help reduce the risk of heart disease. This was done by reviewing information from 27 clinical studies which proved the cholesterol reducing benefits of soy protein.

It's not hard to add soy protein into your daily diet. Switching over to a soy milk in the morning with your cereal or coffee is a good place to start. There are many soy based products in your local grocery store including soy supplements, milk, tofu and other substitutions to what you may normally eat.

is shakira to be a mom?

I believe she recently gave birth to a son named "Milan". He is already a member of the best Spanish football club, and named after one of the best Italian ones. One might entertain the idea that his parents have plans for him....

he is either going to be short or tall.

my guess: probably short since the mom is short.

Benefits of Soy ProteinSoy protein is very healthy: it is very low in fat, contains no cholesterol and contains phytochemicals. The main phytochemicals in soy protein are isoflavones, saponins and phytc acid. These phytochemicals are strong antioxidants but have many other properties. Soy protein and its associated phytochemicals seem to reduce heart disease, osteoporosis and risk of cancer.

<ins><ins></ins></ins> Soy Protein and Heart DiseaseSoy protein reduces the cholesterol and help to reduce the risk of heart disease. The most important scientific study about the relationship of soy protein intake and heart disease is the meta-study by Anderson et al (Meta-analysis of the effects of soy protein intake on serum lipids. N Engl J Med 1995;333:276-282). They concluded that the consumption of soy protein rather than animal protein significantly decreased serum concentrations of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides without significantly affecting serum HDL cholesterol concentrations.
Anthony MS et al found that isoflavones in soy protein improve cardiovascular disease risk factors without apparent deleterious effects on the reproductive system of peripubertal rhesus monkeys (Soybean isoflavones improve cardiovascular risk factors without affecting the reproductive system of peripubertal rhesus monkeys. Journal of Nutrition 1996;126:43-50).
Erdman, J.W et all recommend in their study (Soy protein and cardiovascular disease: A statement for healthcare professionals from the nutrition committee of the AHA. Circulation 2000;102(20):2555-9) that including soy protein in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol promotes heart health. They found that the daily consumption of more than 25 g soy protein, with its associated isoflavones, could improve lipid profiles in hypercholesterolemic humans. They also found that soy protein without the isoflavones appears to be less effective in preventing heart disease. Taking isoflavones supplements without soy protein does not lower cholesterol but may provide other cardiovascular benefits. Soy Protein and OsteoporosisResearch suggests that consuming soy protein and the replacement of animal protein with plant protein may protect against osteoporosis. Although Japanese women consume less calcium than most Western women do they have a lower prevalence of fractures. This could be explained by the soy protein consumption of Japanese women. Alekel, D.L. et al found that soy isoflavones attenuated bone loss from the lumbar spine in perimenopausal women.
Source: Isoflavone-rich soy protein isolate attenuates bone loss in the lumbar spine of perimenopausal women. Am J Clin Nutr 2000;72(3):844-52. Soy Protein and Abdominal Body FatSoy protein contains calories, about 4 kcal per g, but does its consumption increase our body fat? Of course, if you add extra soy protein to your diet you may expect weight increase, but how does soy protein compare with for example dairy protein. One study investigated the effect of a daily supplementation of soy protein or dairy protein on body fat of postmenopausal women [1]. The researchers found that the group who consumed soy protein lost abdominal fat (-12 ml), whereas the group who had the soy protein replaced with dairy protein (casein) showed an increase in abdominal fat (+39 ml). Other parameters, such as total body fat, insulin secretion and lean mass did not differ between the groups. This study concluded that a daily supplementation of soy protein prevents the increase in subcutaneous and abdominal fat, observed with an isocaloric casein placebo in postmenopausal women.
Source: Effect of a daily supplement of soy protein on body composition and insulin secretion in postmenopausal women. Fertil Steril. 2007 Dec;88(6):1609-17. Soy Protein and Cancer RiskEpidemiological studies suggest that soy protein may reduce the risk of certain cancers, including breast cancer and prostate cancer. Japanese women, who eat a lot of soy protein (mainly from soy tofu and miso), have a much lower risk of breast cancer or prostate cancer than Western people. The anti-cancer effect of soy protein could be explained by the phytochemicals, which are associated with the soy protein. These phytochemicals include the isoflavones (genistein, daidzein and glycitein), phytic acid and saponins. Isoflavones and phytic acid have strong antioxidant properties and can prevent oxidative damage by free radical to our DNA and cells. Shu X.O. et all suggest that high soy intake during adolescence may reduce the risk of breast cancer in later life (Soyfood Intake during Adolescence and Subsequent Risk of Breast Cancer among Chinese Women. Cancer Epid Biomarkers Prev. 10: 483-488). The inverse association between soy protein intake and reduces risk of breast cancer was observed for each group of soyfoods examined.

Hello all. I hope you are well.

Rafael Nadal will be playing his first match on Tuesday in doubles with Juan Monaco against the Czech team of Frantisek Cermak and Lukas Dlouhy.  He has a first round bye in singles, and will be playing his first single's match since Wimbledon on Wednesday either against lefty 22 year old Guido Pella or a qualifier.  Everyone is anxious to see how  he plays and how his level of tennis is.
But one thing that can't be denied is that Rafa is back in the media spotlight.

Here is a video of him and two other players you might recognize meeting with the President of Chile

Here he is in his first practice at the stadium in Chile

------------

What's Roger Federer been doing?  Prior to his preparation for Rotterdam coming up Feb 11, he's been taking care of business in Switzerland and making some commercials for Credit Suisse's new Bonviva banking packages campaign.  They are a bit dorky, but here is one of them :)

Credit Suisse - Bonviva spot with Roger Federer

Oh, and I found this 2010 AO Jim Courier interview of Federer after the SF that I thought was pretty funny.
After he's done talking about the match with Tsonga, at around 1:29, Courier asks Federer about his fitness... and then later they talk about the upcoming Final with Andy Murray, where at the time, a Brit hadn't won a major in a long, long, long time.  Enjoy :)

I hope you're not too impatient....I have not been at my best today, and progression has been slow. I might decide to stay home from work tomorrow, if so I might proceed further. If not, it will probably take a couple of days to complete my part. Should't take too long to add the third section to send to you, though, I'll get right on that.

life is good when you can hang out with the presidents but his game absolutely sucks.

i can see that already. aside from the knee issues, its not hard to tell for me anyway that he has not been working hard enough.

they gave him $1.2 million to show up here so he came.

also bad knee or no bad knee, who the hell forced him off the courts completely. he should have hit a million forehands and a million backhands during the 7 months off.

that is not really putting any pressure on the knee if they are done on clay and done with slightly reduced intensity. and the balls could have been just fed to him on the courts requiring little or no moving.

how come muster let nothing stop him. he was tied to a special bench and he could not even stand and he was hitting million forehands.

i dont even think nadal even wants to compete at the highest levels anymore. hopefully i am wrong but that is my sense for all this at the moment.

i picked him to win here in FITD but there is no way he is winning this event. at least i dont see it.

Snowstorm ... :)) :rofl_2:

A priest and a nun were lost in a snowstorm. After a while, they came upon a small cabin. Being exhausted, they prepared to go to sleep. There was a stack of
blankets and a sleeping bag on the floor but only one bed.

Being a gentleman, the priest said, "Sister, you sleep on the bed. I´ll sleep on the floor in the sleeping bag."

Just as he got zipped up in the bag and was beginning to fall asleep, the nun said "Father, I´m cold."

He unzipped the sleeping bag, got up, got a blanket and put it on her. Once again, he got into the sleeping bag, zipped it up and started to drift off to sleep when the nun once again said, "Father, I´m still very cold."

He unzipped the bag, got up again, put another blanket on her and got into the sleeping bag once again.

Just as his eyes closed, she said, "Father, I´m sooooo cold."

This time, he remained there and said, "Sister, I have an idea. We´re out here in the wilderness where no one will ever know what happened. Let´s pretend we´re married."

The nun said, "That´s fine by me."

To which the priest yelled out, "Get up and get your
own bloody blanket!"

Hamburg was supplanted by Madrid which was a new tournament as far as holding it on clay was concerned. I'd skip over the year when they moved and otherwise continue like before. One could also have made separate columns for Hamburg and clay-Madrid. I have made separate columns in the pre-1990 section, as you will be able to see in a minute.

Looking at the draw, I think  Chardy vs. Nadal will be very interesting if it happens in the SF.  They've never played each other, and Chardy looked in good form in Australia, beating Seppi and Del Potro, and losing in the QF to Andy Murray.  I think that match will be a good indicator of where Nadal's level is at the moment.

But the goal for Nadal is probably to get as many matches as possible under his belt while keeping the knees relatively healthy.
As long as he has been away, I think he needs about 30 matches under his belt to be near his best.  We'll see.

Respectfully,

Madrid is confusing because it's taken over 3 other tournaments. I'll just see how you organized it :)~

How many matches he needs is bound to be guesswork at this stage. Will be an interesting clay season, that much is certain.

well historically speaking, you need 20 matches on dirt before pulling up at RG if you want to win it.

and since he is so hard to beat in a best of 5 sets foremat he can probably do it with a little bit less. but things have changed. now he has managed to destroy his knee so we have recalibrate the standard.

for him, i say he needs 25-26 total matches on clay just before stepping on to the centre court for the final.

this is different from having 20 under your belt before you arrive in paris.

i think he wins his 8th RG if he has 25-26 total clay court matches under his belt. 6 of those are to come at RG obviously for my new standard for him.

bad knee or no bad knee, he will take the RG crown if he is in the final and he has 25-26 total clay court matches before that final starts.

that is my position anyway.
