We'll need a ranking system. Weekly updates will be posted here, in the weeks with finished tournaments.

Ranking points system will mirror the real ranking as far as possible, a title run will always yield as many points as one is accustomed to see, earlier finishes will not as we normally play seven days in 5-round tournaments and 12 days in slams and points will depend on how many days you survive, not the exact round you reach. Exact points for each event will be given in the tournament threads. These tournaments will count:

4 Grand Slams
8 best out of 9 ATP 1000 - Monte Carlo is treated no different from the rest.
6 best other tournaments (ATP500 or ATP250),  no obligation to participate in four ATP500s.
World Tour Finals (for those who qualify). Best 8 qualify to participate.

If two players are tied on total points,
the higher ranked is the one with more points won at mandatory tournaments.

I am planning the following columns:

# - current ranking
Prev - previous week ranking
High - highest ranking
Latest - points won at the previous week tournament
Mand - points won at mandatory tournaments (GS + ATP1000 + WTF)
Other - points won at non-mandatory tournaments (ATP500 + ATP250)
POINTS - total points won in the last 52 weeks
6th - lowest non-mandatory score that counts
7th - highest non-mandatory score that's not counted
NextOff - points to defend in the week
Wins - number of tournaments won by the player (best result on the forum)
Titles - number or titles won by the player (survived to pick the winner in the final)

A little odd, all four who previously had won once, won again. Thus no change at the top of the table. Orange Wombat was "this weeks climber" from 7th to 6th.

Markus, I don't know how good you are with excel and stuff but maybe you can make the table somewhat like Dylan does for FITD?
That adds a little more color to the tables!

Of course nobody won a title yet, just won the events. Maybe we can add that table too if someone finally snatches the title (winning on day 7)

I am comfortable with Excel, but poor with colours and even worse with pictures. Dylan posts not Excel charts but images of them. Posting images is definitely not my strong suit. Getting colours here simply by copy-pasting might be possible but I haven't discovered how yet.

I will add more colums as they become interesting. A lot of zeros or a headline with nothing below did not seem to me to fit the bill. But again, presentation is not something I do well. I am open for any suggestions for improvement.

Ann storms to a convincing lead after winning Indian Wells in style. Miami could easily change things, though. 1000 points await the one who can go all the way.

I'm finally out with last week's ranking. I've tried to get something in colours. This is not my strong side, so feel free to chip in thoughts about improvements.
Ann dominates the proceedings thus far, with a lead that is safe for the current week. Everyone is still searching for that elusive first title, though. Perhaps it will come at Casablanca?
