After that DC experience, no wonder Berdych pulled out. I rather expected it.
Could be a good opportunity for Davydenko if he can bring his Doha form.

I think Berdych, Stan, and the others will be suffering from that Davis Cup tie for a long time!

A good win for him. I must say, after what's happened so far, I like his chances to win the tournament.

Llodra has played well here to date.  I'm just watching the match with Paire, joining it to watch Paire equalise the match by winning the second set. And he just broke ML with the most exquisite cross court backhand hit from & to a sharp angle.  Some excellent tennis from both men, but BP is now 3-1 up & one feels he has the momentum, with ML making errors.

Edit - and BP breaks ML again, playing with conviction & some beautiful, crisp shots. Very easy on the eye.

And BP just broke again at 5-1, to clinch it to love with some superb, winners hit with panache.  Babblelot, I can see why you like his game  - I really enjoyed watching him play just now.

So that's the first semi over with. Gasquet is playing Neiminen & the match has just started.  Real life beckons, but I'll watch what I can. I hope RG can win it.

My pair Marray / Fleming lost their semi, but it was closely contested, 7-6,6-7,10-12.  Well done to their opponents Brunstrom / Klaasen for beating the number one seeds to get to the final.  Llodra still has a chance to advance in  the doubles with Gicquel if they win their doubles semi-finals.

Gasquet vs Paire in the final. A nice treat for the home crown to get an all-French final. My money is on RG to take the title, but I didnt' think BP would get this far so he might surprise me again.

Gasquet-Paire final  :) This will be entertaining if Paire doesn't mug it up.

Both of their forehand techniques are so ugly  :zipped:, but really powerful backhands

If I could only watch one final from the current 3 tournaments, it would have been this one, but no go.
I'm pleased that RG won it. He has played some outstanding tennis here. I watched some of the match against Nieminen - beautiful stuff from RG.
An emphatic win at 62,63.

And the French pair won the doubles too, with Llodra / Giquel beating Brunstrom Klaasen in what looks to have been a closely contested final - 63,36,119.
