del potro could be the surprise of the last slam. he finished 2012 quite strong.

now it looks like he will bag this rotterdam title.

Nalbandian takes out Bolelli to reach the Sao Paulo final.  Will Nadal get there too?

Not too strong. The top 3 seeds are Ferrer, Almagro, and Wawrinka. And then 4th seed is Bellucci and it goes all downhill from there  :rofl_2:  :)~

Del Po is playing Marseille, so no  :)~

that is probably bad news for nadal. good news for nalby fans.

he is likely to get killed by nalby now if he even makes the final.

ceemon may retire.  Down a set and just got broken to be back on serve in the second set. Hamstring is bothering him...

Nadal really needs work on his return of serve.  It is awful right now. He should hire Karlovic or someone like that.  He's got to get over his fear of the baseline.

#111 ranked Alund is a fearsome opponent.  Clay Warrior saved 2 break points.

what can anyone do general MC. i have been saying for 5 years now that the game would have become so much easier for him if he had learned a few trick of the trade when returning serve.

we know that he has some natural limitations so have to factor that in. there is no way he can return like nole and murray on quicker courts by the virtue of the mechanics of his strokes.

he has heavy topspin strokes so he is never ever going to find the time to take full cuts at the ball 100% of the time on quicker courts.

he should have learned to block the ball back effectively by now but what can you do. he does not want to focus on his return.

and he can improve his return by working on it for an hour a day. pay somebody to hit him serves for 60-75 minutes a day and forget about that damn golf and poker for 2 years.

in 2 years he will not be in the sport anyway at the rate he is going. so he will have 65 year to go drown in his damn golf and poker.

i would work on the serve and the return for a total of 2 hours a day and stop embarrasing myself out there.

i would also hit the ball every single day on clay until those strokes become machine like again like in 2008 and in 2010.

Totally agree general Hercules. But does his butt have to be practically pasted to the Canon sign on the back fence?  He's got to hit the ball back much further with his loopy topspin, and 80% of the time it's going to land somewhere around the service line when it goes in, putting the opponent in control of the point immediately...  He's making it very difficult on himself, and has to hope his opponent just screws up serving to get a break.

Rafa is one of the greatest, if not the greatest clay court player ever, but he's driving me nuts right now standing so far back to return.  This is Martin Alund for God's sake, not Raonic or Isner.

he is just a lost soul general MC.

was there any real need to push the ball back in that last game. he pushed it back twice and lost both points instantly.

and what chance do you have of breaking if you cant even get the 2nd serve back in play on clay. its not like that guy is serving bombs and coming in.

so there is no pressure. he has made tennis nearly impossible for himself since 2010.

ditch the damn slice. even a 3rd rate club player is going after that slice today. they are going to take a huge cut on th ball with that floating slice every time.

dont hit it unless you are out of position and are just  trying to get back on the court.

Well Alund just handed Nadal a gift with some poor serving and impatience.

Let's see if Rafa can snatch this set now.

I'm back from the ATP Buenos Aires qualies :D
Amazing stuff, I met Dustin and shaked his hand, what a cool guy he is.

I bought and old tennis magazine about AO2007 I wanted to buy so many times and I couldn't find it.
Finally I did :D

Hey Johnny Viruzzz.  Buenos Aires sounds great.  We're good.   Watching Rafa return from way back again against a player who wouldn't break an egg with his serve.  But he's winning anyway ;)

What's with the Brasil fans?  They are being very rude to the Argentines...
