he played horrible bettsy. he is about 12-17 pounds overweight and totally out of condition. i would estimate that he has thrown away more than 40% of fitness away.
 
now compare that with nole who has improved his fitness this year by 25%.
 
that is a 65% gap that nadal would not be able to make up if he had even 15 months to catch up on the fitness front alone.
 
now nole has also improved every single other aspect of his game as well while nadal has failed to improve since 2010.

It's not just Nole improved fitness. Murray, Fed, Ferrer, Tipsy and the others as well. Gasquet is looking in the best shape of his career and has already bagged 2 titles this year.

2011 told me all i needed to know general. he would manage to win RG in 2011 and in 2012 but his domination on clay was fading because he was letting his game and his fitness go.

nole did not beat him like a drum because he was better than nadal in 2011. he beat him because nadal kept running out of gas time and again.

and now nole would beat him on all fronts. now nole has really improved his game and he has taken his fitness higher than ever before.


so nadal has donated 3-5 slams that he could have won with a better work ethic and better focus.


now those opportunities may be gone forever.


everybody is a better player now. roger, nole, and murray are all significantly improved. nadal is lazy and complacent so he refuses to keep up the hunt.

and it is not going to end either. nadal cannot win in brazil and acapulco either. not in this current condition.

It's similar to how Ferru started 2012.But, I wouldn't give Gasguet much chances at Masters and especially at slams.

he should be ashamed of himself that he did this to himself in his prime. he has a winning record against all of the top guns. all of them.


and now his countryman who has no weapons and no height and is pushing 31 or 32 is ranked higher than him.
