my head is alright John thanks for asking  :))

what do you guys think we should do with Suicide this week? Ill ask Markus later on.

do you guys enjoy the game so far?

I'm for continuing instead with Sao Paulo, as you know.  But I don't know if that would "break" the system.

Seems a good game, but susceptible to early failure if the early favorites lose.  You have to pick guys early that you think will win, but not go too much further in the draw, and the problem with that is that these guys may not win matches they should either.  I know it is called Suicide for a reason, but maybe when everyone who is still playing loses, then instead of the tournament ending, all those who lost in that day  are "lucky losers" and will get to play the next day.  In other words, at least one player has to win for it to be a "valid day" of picks.
That's my suggestion.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Sir John!
yeah but that's the charm of the game. i know it sucks if you are out early because you have to make risky picks and new inputs are always welcome but it defies the cause of the game if you can still get in as 'lucky loser'. in that case you can lose 6 days in a row and still get in as lucky loser and even win in the weekend? that doesn't make any sense to me mate but maybe I am just misunderstanding you.

Oh, I'm talking the singular case where everyone left loses and ends the game, such as what happened for Rotterdam.  3 players remaining in the game all lost in the second round, and the game is over.   Seems kind of a waste of time.  Only in this example, I would let all 3 go on to the next day and try to eventually get an outright winner.

Respectfully,
masterclass

I am open to new ways of doing things, but to me one there are two great prizes in this game - getting titles and topping the ranking. If you provide wildcards to the players who progressed furthest then you handicap the others rankingwise - an extra opportunity to some and not all. The ranking might not seem very interesting yet, but once the game has been going for some time it will be more interesting. At least I think so. Therefore I am not in favor of this suggestion. Starting a new tournament with everyone welcome would be better.

agree with sir Markus here.

the rankings will not be 'special' now since we just introduced it. it will come in time.
we have to appreciate the charm of this game, those LL or WildCards is a nice idea but I don't think it's gonna work.

what we could do is, is if everyone is out before let's see Wednesday we can discuss it and start a backup tournament for that week. how about that?

guys the times have changed. "ye olde castle" sounds old, stale, nonprogressive, and quite frankly "oldish". also as lot of people will tell you, they equate that with a nadal hangout or a nadal base camp. most everybody that left the castle at mtf over the years was because they wanted to get away from the nadal fans.

of course javi and i worked hard there to change that way of thinking in the last 2-3 years at mtf. still a lot of people did not want to post at the castle because they felt it was a nadal thing.

so we try to break that cycle of thinking here with our more progressive way of thinking.

vast majority of the folks taking part in these forums are young, progressive folks. we have to be able to reach some of them.

and its just a marketing ploy anyway. nothing is changed. the castle is still the castle and the people know that already. its just a camelot castle.

bottom line: camelot story sells. ye olde castle does not. as a matter of fact it is completely dead at TF for example. nobody posts at the "ye olde castle" at TF other than 2-3 people. and even we are not there much. they have 50,000 members and we cant get anybody to post there.

it took me and javi 4 years of hard work to make it work at MTF. he brought diana in and changed that place`s stars. and then we managed to grow there so it could self-sustain.

excellent post as usual generalito.

you are right on all fronts, we worked really hard to revive the castle and we succeeded.

we need to keep in mind that some people are part of this castle too for some years now. change is usually improvement but we also should sustain and keep the trademarks that made this place great and a force to be reckoned with.

authority is good, but we should keep our family happy here.

as i have suggested, absolutely nothing has changed. only a slightly different marketing angle to attract more people.

we have to live with the fact that "ye olde castle" does not sell anymore.

it has brought zero people to the castle at TF.

and i cant keep posting here all by myself around the clock. and i also cant keep posting all by myself at TF.

if it was not for you, me, and mimi, there would be zero people at the castle at TF. it does not work. they all equate "ye olde castle" as a old, stale, and oldish place where nadal fans might hang out.

we need people and we need to try different ideas.

also we change volumes here every 2000 posts. it is impractical to have 600 castles here. so we choose to have one. and we can call it castle camelot. it is still a castle.

right now i dont know of anyone who is unhappy with the idea of some growth here.

change is critical for survival and sometimes people have to take the lead for the common good. for the survival of the entire community. i can assure you nobody is going to be left behind.

everybody is going to enjoy this cruise. we are all on the same cruise.

to hell with that forum generalito.

we only opened that one because we couldnt communicate because you was banned from MTF.
there are a few (new) people who I really like there like azdaja but TF is mainly a gay obsessed place.

it was doomed to fail over there, we will see how it goes.

by the way you are able to play Suicide Tennis Sao Paulo! Order of Play for tomorrow is out, so everyone gets a second chance.

azdaja has his own chat thread there and he has his circle of friends. also change is uncomfortable for some.

i have asked him a couple of times to join this place here so we can all stay in touch. i am not sure if he is going to do it.
