gawd, thanks for posting the highlights
. I actually expected Tomic to win this as Dimitrov's form lately has been questionable. anyway, happy that Grisha is through. He is playing Davydenko next and that should a very interesting match.
Alex, I thought BT would win it too, looking at the draw.I hope Dimitrov can settle down. I'm not bothered about GS's etc, but I'd like to see him playing well consistently at this level as a start. He has such a beautiful game. I like Tomic's game too, but he seemed too passive at times in that match & made too many errors.
Fedfanforever - If you mean this was a big win for Dimitrov because these two are rivals, then I agree. BT had GD on the ropes during much of the second set, & was up 5-2. GD remained focused & pulled back the momentum in the 3rd set, and effectively dictated terms.
Here are highlights of the 3rd set in the Tsonga / Sijsling match. Sijsling looked confident, playing an attacking game. He handled Tsonga well. I hadn't noticed before, but he can serve well & uses both his backhand & forehand incisively. Putting pressure on Tsonga to break him to take the win was a great effort. No doubt the home support helped, but he seemed inspired to go for it, and did. Tsonga made some superb shots, but a few too many errors. I'm sorry to see him go out so soon as he brings good energy to the court, but on this occasion, it is hats off to Sijsling.
