Typical Fard early round match. Doesn't matter, Nole is winning the title.
Then we will fight in the shade.

Roger scared me a little in that first set...but played more like I thought he should in the 2nd and 3rd.  But...hey...a win is a win!!!!!! :rofl_2:  I see Novak was playing doubles with his brother but they lost in the first round, so now he can just concentrate on singles.

I note that Federer decided to take the scenic route against Jaziri, losing the first set. Sloppy, to say the least. But he was hardly under siege, allowing his opponent just 2 games in the last 2 sets.

I like Brands game.  He should give |Youzhny a good match next.

There should be some interesting matches tomorrow - Del Potro/Baghdatis, for example. Tipsarevic / Davydenko too.

Pity Tipsarevic is injured. Davydenko won, but it was an odd match, JT having been assertive at first, but losing in straight sets.

I watched the Del Potro / Baghdatis match & enjoyed it. Both men can play some excellent tennis & did so. JMD-P played a poor game to lose the 1st set, but improved focus & got the break early in the 2nd set, keeping the advantage to take the set. The 3rd was closely contested & JMD-P saved match points against him to get it to a TB.  This no doubt gave him momentum as he stayed ahead in much of the TB to win it.  Well done to him for getting through a close match against an opponent he struggles with.

Tomic is out - apparently injured.  Tsonga / Llodra should be a good match.

I'm watching Djokovic / Troicki  as I work.  ND is up a break & putting pressure on VT's serve, breaking again to go up 4-1.  There will no surprises in this match, which should be a straight sets win for ND.

I'm so happy that TSN is broadcasting Dubai, so I don't have to put up with silly live streams. Djokovic is simply unplayable at the moment. He crushed Troicki, painting lines, hitting winners from all over the court. Just beautiful to watch.

now I'm just watching the DP/Baghdatis match. I know the result already ... feel bad for Baghdatis, love his smile and his style but It wasn't meant to be today.

hey General Herc. yeah, Nole was scary good/sharp. I've quoted you on MTF regarding your old quote 'the movement of death' ... oh boy, you are so right ... really don't know how he does it. He is a freak of nature. Troicki wasn't actually too bad.

Djokovic looked majestic on court today, entertaining us to a masterclass. And Tsonga couldn't muster up the energy to produce his best tennis, allowing Llodra to provide some delightful play.

Wednesday's schedule has a lot of potentially excellent matches, both singles & doubles & I should be able to watch at least some live.

Results for 26th February:

Djokovic   d   Troicki   61 64
Davydenko   d   Tipsarevic   60 75
Llodra   d   Tsonga   76(3) 62
Del Potro   d   Baghdatis   46 64 76(4)
Berdych   d   Ram   61 63
Hanescu   d  Tomic   32   (retired)
Granollers   d  Montanes   63 61
Kamke   d  Kukushkin   46 64 64
Tursunov   d  Hajek   46 61 62

Doubles results:

Erlich / Youzhny   d   Bautista Agut / A Seppi   64 75
Lindstedt / Zimonjic   d  Butorac /  Hanley   63 64

Fed 6:3 6:4. Fed was much better than in R41. Some beautiful shot making from Fed followed by silly UE. Fed's serve needs to improve tho, it was off today, but Granollers was mediocre so the final result was never in doubt.

Djokovic simply destroyed Seppi 6:0 6:3. He just toyed with him, being absolutely clinical.

Now, let's see if old guys can give us a good match.

Davydenko is one of my favorite players. It breaks my heart that such a talent pretty much wasted his career. Many so called 'tennis fans' have never recognized what a great player he is. He's been a shadow of himself lately ... anway, still hoping for a competitive match. Fed is not doing anything special. If Kolya could just cut down his UE, IF...
