Didn't expect Hewitt gets into so far.
Nor I, Williamchung.
If I remember correctly, it was said at the start of the season that he is preparing to play better this year. It was interesting to see him play this match - he could return well on Isner's serve but served well himself too.
I also watched a bit of the Simon/ Lorenzi match. I've never given much attention to Lorenzi's game before & liked his attitude. Pity he couldn't convert his match points.
Janowicz continues to show his potential, but I was pleased to see Nalbandian taking it to a TB in the first set & winning the second set. Amongst the horrible errors, there were flashes of his former shot making abilities & I enjoyed seeing that.
Never having been interested in Verdasco, I nevertheless wonder what happened to him. To be beaten by the veteran Nieminen with this score is noteworthy. FV is out of the doubles too.
The match I wanted to see but couldn't was the Gasquet / Tomic match, as I am a Gasquet fan & alsso interested in how Tomic is doing. Some highlights:Set One :
In the doubles, it's a good result for the Murray brothers, wildcards here, defeating the number 5 seeds & for Lopez/Raonic defeating the number 3 seeds. Results for Saturday, March 9, 2013Second Round
