Sir Alex, I think Stan might  school Nole on the Madrid clay if Nole gets that far  :)>>>>

For sure there is a Spanish pecking order, and Rafa is at the top with Uncle Toni in the role of the Godfather. :)) :))

MC, anything is possible but I doubt it. I really like Wawa but Novak is ... well he is Novak Djokovic (let's put it that way  :)). and, no I'm not saying this as his fan.

It's true... No1e he is, for now. :) I think Stan has the necessary talent to be in the top 5-8 players in the world, but needs 1 big win* to give him the belief he needs to get there. Preferably at a slam.  I think his performance vs  Nole at the AO already helped him some.  His movement seems somewhat improved of late.  I think just a few more pounds lost could help him.

*  Djokovic, Nadal, Federer

With all the 'drama' surrounding Tomic.....I'm not surprised he lost.
Stepanek always gives Roger trouble so with Roger not playing for a while and his first match on clay....this match could be 'tricky'.  LET'S GO ROGER!

That buzzard, I had him as one of my picks.
The players not in the top 4 can be so pitiful at times.

I'm looking forward to the Raonic/Davydenko match, and to seeing how Dimitrov is playing.  The two madcap entertainers Haase/Dolgopolov should be fun!

Tricky, but the clay should blunt some of the Radman's guile.

brutal draw for Tommy to try and close the gap to top 10.

Considering he didn't play last year, I thought this would be nice opportunity, but Seppi 1st round, possibly Robredo/Baghdatis 2nd round, then Ferrer and maybe Nadal.....

The problem with Stan and Tommy (for instance)...is when they do great one week and try to play the next week - they don't do that well in the 2nd tournament.  Both these guys did great last week and now have to turn right around and try to 'come back down to earth' and do good this week in Madrid....it's tough.  Goes to show how special people like Roger, Nadal, and Novak are to be able to have won week after week after week.

I'm now watching Isner in a 2nd set tie break with Garcia-Lopez.

And, unfortunately, I still think this title will come down to either Novak or Nadal (now that they are not complaining about blue clay and all.) :innocent: :rofl_2:

I hope Roger can defend his title, but I know it's going to be hard.  But at any rate: GO ROGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

nadal is not the player he used to be lady dallas.

he is far more vulnerable than ever before in best of 3 sets foremats against the top players.

so I do not see him taking this title.

its very simple: you will get your sorry, fat, lazy ass spanked by nole if you refuse to put in the kind of focus and the kind of hard work nole is putting in.

what nadal calls practice these days is a damn joke. that is why he is always crying about being tired.

2 hours of his practice sessions are a complete joke these days. he spends most of that time 600 feet behind trying to hit forehands.

Nadal has done an excellent job since his return.  For someone to be out that long and come back and make finals and win tournaments - IN THE MEN'S GAME!!!! -- he must be doing something right.

I noticed a pattern with a lot of Nadal fans.  Seems like his fans are harder on him that non-Nadal fans! :rofl_2:  Glad you all are not Federer fans! :rofl_2:

But at any rate.  Nadal is still playing pretty good tennis right now so I don't count him out in any tournament (unlike some of his fans) :rofl_2:

Roger's is the 'question mark' to me.  I know he normally takes a lot of time off during the year, but he's getting older, and it seems like he needs some time to 'get back in the swing of things'.  With him being the defending champion here -- he's going to have to get back in the groove in a hurry! He hasn't won a title this year yet (that's another streak going as well)....so I hope he can start here but with almost 2 months off - I honestly don't know how Roger will play this week.
