I'm hoping rising Spaniard Carreno-Busta can add to his 39 match winning streak and make a deep run here  :) He's playing Kevin Anderson next, who's a strong player, but not on clay. :)

I think Volandri will beat Klizan tomorrow. Better chance for Paire.
Carreno-Busta against Anderson should be interesting. The Spaniard has got an impressive winning streak, but hasn't met really good opposition in it.

I know zilch about Carreno-Busta, but I'm willing to cheer for his winning streak!  :)

Litotes - Volandri / Klizan should be a good match.

Carreno-Busta was dispatched somewhat routinely by Anderson.

And Klizan made it through in straight sets against Volandri - I'd like to have seen this match.  He won his doubles match too - seems to be enjoying himself out there.

Results for the 11th April:

Singles:

Anderson   defeats Carreno-Busta   63 63
Zemlja   defeats Laaksonen   76(5) 61
Haase   defeats  De Schepper   62 67(2) 63
Klizan   defeats Volandri   64 76(5)

Doubles
Klizan / Zelenay   defeats   Cermak / Mertinak   36 75 10-3
Brown /  Kas   defeats   Kavcic / Zemlja   63 62
Knowle / Polasek    defeats       Paire /  Wawrinka   60 46 10-4
Bedene / Bednarek   defeats    Bracciali / Starace   63 75

A Wawrinka / Anderson final had looked probable from the outset, and I suspect this is the finals pairing. But I hope Klizan can prevail. I wonder if Robredo has the gumption to cause an upset?

Schedule for Saturday, April 13, 2013

COURT CENTRAL Start 2:00 pm
[WC/1] Stanislas Wawrinka (SUI) v Tommy Robredo (ESP)

[3] Martin Klizan (SVK) v [2] Kevin Anderson (RSA)

[1] Julian Knowle (AUT)/Filip Polasek (SVK) v Martin Klizan (SVK)/Igor Zelenay (SVK)

Anderson has already reached his first ATP SF on clay, not sure if he's up for yet another win.

Well done Robredo!  You did indeed have the gumption!   :)

Pity Klizan couldn't get past Anderson, especially as he was a set up.  He's playing the doubles semi-final too - maybe he can win this match.

That was about the worst 2 sets I ever saw Stan play  :zipped:

Well done to the s**tman, but I still don't know how he wins matches with such a weak and erratic game.

Might as well name the comeback player of the year award the Tommy for both Haas and Robredo. Amazing he's cone all the way back at his age after a series of injuries late in his career.

Go Tommy!

There's been some good tennis in this match.  A set apiece, but TR neutralised KA's serve sufficiently to
go up 5-2 in the 3rd set. KA serving, and some good net play behind his serve to take him up 40-0. He holds to love.  Now, can TR serve it out?

Robredo won! Wow, that wouldn't have been high up on my list of choices before the tournament.

The Tommy seems appropriate, Babblelot!   :)  Some excellent play by TR to take the title!

Litotes - this win will have surprised many, possibly TR himself!  His 11th career title, says the commentator.  He handled the KA serve well, and served well himself. Good result.
