btw, Berdych has a very difficult draw. I believe he has Monfils and Gulbis in R1 and R2 then Ferrer, Fed. ouch  :zipped:

I'm hoping Gulbis will send him home early.

I really like both Gulbis and Berdman. I'll be pretty neutral in that match, just can't cheer for one or another. Gulbis is finally getting serious about his tennis and I'm really happy to see that. that match can go both ways, it's hard to say.

Lol! Almagro could face Ferrer in 3R. Nico just can't get away from Spanish 1 & 2.

And Fognini gets Rafa 2R. I hope Fabio isn't scheduled to play Sunday or I won't be seeing him :(

That's another issue I have with RG-the Sunday start. Limited play Sunday and some guys are gone before full play begins Monday. :thumb-down: But I realize it helps at the back end when the front end is wet.

Babs, I firmly believe that Almagro can def. Ferrer especially on clay. He has skills to do it but he also has some sort of a mental block against Ferrer. I like Fongini too, nice game, but he is going against Nadal so .... good luck to him.

nadal will only play 3 set matches in this tournament, alex........one by one will be eliminated as if they came only to be eliminated........i really enjoy posting during this slam, RG makes me arrogant........ :rofl_2:

Had Murray not w/d, Rafa would have slipped to #4.

Non-Stadium 1R matches that are on my "To See" list.

Falla v [26]Dimitrov
[22]Dolgopolov v Tursunov - Dimitry has worked hard following injury
Qualifier v [16]Kohlschreiber
Berlocq v [19]Isner - I'd show for the American
[29] Youzhny v Andujar
Qualifier v [27]Fognini
[24]Paire v Baghdatis
[9]Wawrinka v De Bakker
Ramos v [21]Janowicz - I like Ramos!
Zopp v [32]Robredo - Tommy earned a seed after all that time away from the game!
Qualifier v [11]Almagro
[14]Raonic v Malisse
Nieminen v Mathieu
[17]Monaco v Gimeno-Traver
and last but not least
Qualifier v Qualifier

Since there are 3 stadiums, and as far as I know only the US Open does grand slam tennis right, you need a separate ticket to each of the 3 stadium courts. Totally lame :thumb-down:  So Haas, ranked #12, will likely be played in the Bull Ring or Lenglen. He's a bigger draw than Almagro, who likely will be put on Court #2 or 3.

*James Blake made the main draw and decided to show up?! Wow... I see Hewitt, too!

Bonus tennis
[10]Caroline Wozniacki v Laura Robson - would like to see Laura
Svetlana Kuznetsova v [22]Ekaterina Makarova
[24]Julia Goerges v Qualifier
Simona Halep v [20]Carla Suarez Navarro
Bethanie Mattek-Sands v Lourdes Dominguez Lino - I'd watch the American
Coco Vandeweghe v [27]Yaroslava Shvedova - I like Shvedova
Melinda Czink v Francesca Schiavone - see what la lioness has left
Flavia Pennetta v [21]Kirsten Flipkens - Pennetta's back!
Shuai Peng v Camila Giorgi - really want to see Giorgi
Jamie Hampton v [25]Lucie Safarova - I'd show up for this American
[18]Jelena Jankovic v Daniela Hantuchova
Karin Knapp v [17]Sloane Stephens - 4 Americans and 3 are women (I wouldn't show for Querrey)

Too much information at once for me  :)~ but I agree with all of this.

Big thing I got out of the draw is it will not be possible for a Nadal-Djokovic final. Even Berdych, Federer, Ferrer, and Tsonga will be a mild and pleasant surprise.  :))

He got injured in Madrid and missed Rome. I don't know if he's playing this week. Big ask if he were fit...

Federer with a potentially tough draw folks.  :shocking:

Qualifier Carreno-Busta is a big clay talent.  A future RG champion in the making... He could upset Federer if he is on and Federer isn't quite ready.   :uhm:

Devverman is from India, the land of Sachin Tendulkar, and they were co-recipients of SI's SportsPerson of the Year award. Need we say more? He could give Federer trouble on aura alone.  :scared:

Benneteau usually plays well against Federer and is a relatively tough match-up for him.  :depressed:

Simon/Hewitt can be troublesome for someone like Federer, Hewitt alone has 2 majors and Simon is still starving.  ;;)

Tsonga is dangerous when on his game; his effort last year at RG vs. Djokovic won't be forgotten.

Ferrer is a beast on clay and has played Nadal the closest this year at the important clay tournaments. If he can beat Federer/whomever, he'll make the final. :sly:

Nadal is God at RG.   :yikes:

Federer will be very thankful to make past each round.  :innocent:  ://

Respectfully,

Looks like a tornado is forming over the entire country of France as the bad weather is circling back.

Chris says it feels like November in all of Europe so far this spring. As long as we don't get multiple days of rain, one rain out isn't a bad thing as the next days get a back log of matches and better players get moved to smaller courts :thumbs-up:

Aside from my guy! Gaudio getting a w/o the only opportunity I had to see him in 2005 (the year he was defending his title), I was pretty fortunate in 2005 and 2006. The weather was Chicago-like at times but all matches got played on time without suspension. 2008, not so much. I saw just 7 complete matches. Some good ones, though: Almagro spanked Murray (22 aces), Wawrinka def Kohli, Chardy def Nalbandian, Gulbis, Baghdatis, Schnyder   and the battle of the extreme beauties: Dementieva def Domachowska.

Remember Marta?

Bill, this guy is so flawed technically. I get it with swish; swish is chemically imbalanced.  :;:-|

jerzy has fairly sound mechanics babbs.

all he needs is consistency off the ground and a slightly better serve.

I see the mechanical flaws only in his serve. can you imagine if he had more modified mechanics and a delivery on the serve like pete Sampras?

I don't like his backhand at all. And his thought process at times leaves me  :confused1:  Just not someone I can see williamchung getting behind because he's such a stickler for...everything not Jerzy.

That's all.  :)
