Rafa doesn't even look like he'll celebrate. Not sure if he would have because it's Ferrer, but definitely not after the B.S. Looks like he just wants to get out of Paris.

That's my hunch, anyway.

Congratulations to Nadal & his supporters. Winning his record breaking 8th title is just incredible! The result may never have been in doubt, but the achievement of winning the title is deserving of more than saying only that.

There are a number of things to note.   The record of 8 titles of a GS & his 12th GS title win is of course the one that catches the eye, but his achievement of making such a spectacular comeback is incredible too. After an absence of some 7 months, he has won virtually everything he has entered, other than a couple of titles in which he was runner up. His wins include Indian Wells, of course.

The aim was no doubt to have a good clay season & win RG. Whilst so many players are off form / under performing at present, Nadal has exceeded his own & the expectations of many others, who had written him off, inviting him to retire from the game etc.  Remarkable stuff.

Congratulations to Ferrer for getting to the final. I suspect that this will the highlight of his GS career.

To punctuate your post, Nadal is way ahead in the Race Rankings.

And he delivered the death blow to Alex. Quite an accomplishment in and of itself!

Congrats to Rafa and his fans. I didn't bother to watch the final as I knew that Ferrer will get spanked/humiliated in 3 easy sets, just the way he did. I won't even watch the highlights. couldn't care less. The first slam final that I missed in many, many years. It looks like I missed nothing. sorry, If I sound cranky but this was so predictable. I'm shocked that Ferrer managed to win 8 games. Rafa must've played bellow his 'average level'  :shocking: :paper bag:

I predicted Rafi would lose 5 games.  I was way off  :rofl_2:.  Rafi could have named the score that he wanted this one to finish at.  I like Ferrer but he has NOTHING to hurt Rafi with.
