Are guys you refereing to 5 slams in case Madrid gets one extra week?

What about IW and Miami then? They are both 2 weeks events...

By the way, I'm against Madrid to be 2 week event.

It would be only a two-week M1000 like IW & Miami.

But I think Tiriac's idea is to increase the prestige of Madrid and later make it a slam. I think he once had a statement where he said slams shouldn't be a closed tournament category, so he'd obviously want Madrid to be a slam. If RG's renovation doesn't get started, I believe Tiriac would be more than willing to replace FO with Madrid as a slam. And yeah, if another place can offer a better event than RG, I'm all for the change of the location, I've got enough of rain delays and night breaks. But Madrid definitely shouldn't be the clay slam, it's not true clay tennis in Madrid's altitude. Another of Tiriac's events, Bucharest, is in better altitude.

He could change it to be better, but can he change ignorant Madrid crowd.

A slam doesn't need a good crowd to be a slam. We're in the middle of the best example right now...

Rafa is the FIRST to qualify for WTF this year! :D

IW is the best run masters there is.

Everything is just about perfect.

They even have serve speed clock on court where you can see it during a match. Cool.

If only it had a faster surface, it's too slow for a HC.

True about that, some quicker surface would be nice after Miami for variation and give advantages to players who's skilled on quicker surfaces.

Its true.
Although it kinda compensates considering very dry and hot weather, so the ball travels faster. Now imagine that and fast court, we would have Cincy or Canada upgraded  :))

Just a little faster would do.
It would be nice if all tournaments would have the speed of serve on court next to the clock like IW.
Larry Ellison, the owner of IW has about $40b. so money is no object.
