Non-active members...
« on: May 28, 2013, 12:28:31 PM »
I was pleasantly surprised to see Chris here again.
So I was wondering about other members I haven't seen in a long time.

Where's
dmas
Buckeye
conchita
kickserve
BGT
kittens
Jamesdster
Alison
Pacer
Somil
Pamqnx
FreeBird
Jeff
the Batman
?
 :(

I probably missed few, but most of these ppl were top quality, I've really enjoyed talking to them.

Anyone with more info on their 'whereabouts' ? :)

Yeah I understand that, but then again there wasn't many activity during 'their' time.
Especially not in small events that are not slams or masters.

I might have missed it if they said goodbyes or so...

Apparently you missed out on '08 & '09......
Check the stats.
Plenty of quality activity back then.
Not the repetitive smiley posts and jibberish just for the sake of raising post counts and falsifying stats.

Nahh I didn't miss '08 and '09.
I believe I missed  2010-2011when I was very busy with moving and whatnots in real life but nvm. Same time when Tommy's injury took place.
So I wouldn't know if they were active in that time, but I do remember them back in 08 and 09 ...

Oh ok then I mistyped, I meant after those years.
Even without checking the stats I remember those years very well. We were all active back then.

What about 2010-11 when I was in my cave.  ..-) Were they around as well?

Dan effectively left in '09, Randy in early 2010.
2 of me favorite tennis talkers.

Conchita comes and goes but can be extremely busy with real life.
She is sorely missed.

Jamesdster still rolls by in his wheelchair occasionally.....

We can announce the account death of one of our most fanciful lords, Clay Death. He died at the Battle of Racists last night. R.I.P. Big guy.

Hilarious that he called only on his enemies to save him. :rofl_2: :rofl_2:

Apparently the army of generals he had amassed were completely useless against a lone bezerker.
Wasn't it amazing how quickly he threw General Alex under the bus after all their years of comaraderie?
His leaving had as much to do with disagreements in the discussions as it did with Alex's off the wall behaviour.
It's pathetic how he repeatedly visits T4U during his ban from other forums and then leaves at the drop of a hat.
He can't stand it when people disaree with him and are willing to dish it out like he does.
Small wonder he bounces around so much.
Perhaps he should take a good hard look in the mirror.
I say good bye and good riddance to the ultimate fangirl.  :bye1::Saddam: :bye1:

Who the heck is gonna miss 40K posts of  :)) :)) and ugly photoshop?
He was the epitome of quantity over quality.

One Alex is worth a thousand CDs.
Even if he does go bonkers once in awhile.

Now let's get back to talking tennis and having fun.
Enjoy your stay at the Funny Farm Alex.

And that is the epitome of the internet. If you treat someone nicely, no matter the style you use, you expose yourself to being hated by a thousand others. Sure, your aims are good, but people can't wait to dance on your grave if you're not exactly to their liking, no matter how nice you behave to them. Give them a beer, they will give you back a slap on your face. CD never had an army of generals, dear Monstertruck, just a few friends who just said they were his friends, and a few others who were too busy at the time to respond. Pity he didn't have the patience to wait for them, otherwise this grave dancing would not be happening right now. Just how the internet works, folks, some people suffer because of it, some people just move on.

Among those aprox. 37500 posts were many posts containing tennis analysis far more accurate than you or I would ever post in 1000 years, belonging to Masterclass. Pity they are lost, they were part of the history of recent events, and they were beautifully written. I hold this error in judgment as the sole mistake CD has made. The rest were all good intentions clearly used as an opportunity to hurt by those wanting to get rid of him.

But that is all... All in the past for now. Unless he wants to return that is...

Sure, there were a few good posts lost, but saying he was such a wonderful guy is quite a stretch.

He had plenty of General Friends who apparently didn't provide the support system he wanted.

Yup, he sure does attract a following wherever he goes.  Some folks like to be stroked.

I'm not celebrating.
But I'll tell you this, I won't miss wading through 50 posts a day of this

:)) :))  or the super sigs.

For me it's about tennis.

Yup, he sure does attract a following wherever he goes.  Some folks like to be stroked.

Recent events seem to be contradicting this. Because, whenever there are followers, they always go with their leader, yet nobody has gone along with CD. Why is that? Simple, because nobody was under CD's command, as you might think. But I don't disagree with you that he liked getting his way, and be around the users he liked, and that he also liked his friends to speak only with the users he liked. It is his nature. But is he the only one with this nature? I think not.

The :Ds and the super sigs were his way to be kind to others. Something not clearly understood by everyone that's for sure. There was no ill will in them, they were not there to annoy, to troll, to fill the forum with garbage. He provided what he felt that the place needed: color. And he attracted users to the forum. His contributions here are immense. Can we all say the same about us? I for one, have not contributed 1% of his contribution to this forum.
