If you remember Novak, in 2006 January he was barely top 100 and he lost to Roger in straights at the AO, by 2007 he had beaten Roger and Nadal to win Toronto masters and made the USOpen final, and by 2008 he beat Roger and won the AO. In a span of two years he went from the little kid trying to prove himself that he could compete with the big guns, to beating Roger and winning a grand slam, not to mention become a solid #3.
It's like all the young guns are stuck at that 2006 Novak level.
