I think Djokovic-Mayer will be a decent match, but not much more than that  ;-()

Dallas, I just don't know how you can respect this drama queen. She plays all kinds crying games and has retired or w/d from 4 tournaments already. And she didn't retire vs. Sloane or today, but took timeouts longer than 10 minutes in each match!

Azarenka < young Nole

Azarenka Wins Despite Nasty Fall

Hot Blonde 2013 Australian Open -Victoria Azarenka defeats Sloane Stephens, will face Li Na

Azarenka collapses - Azarenka vs Dulko - US Open 2010 (Quick Highlights)

Oh, and she screams.

Booooo!!! :thumb-down:

Nadal played too much, even on clay.

He needed some rest with making all those finals since his comeback.

So he skipped the grass tune up tournament probably thinking he can get into good grass form after a few rounds.

He was just caught at the wrong time by a player who not only got hot but was able to not get nervous.

Didn't hurt that the grass was beautiful and fresh.

My strong opinion is that Rafa should have played a warmup tournament on grass before W (Hale). big mistake.

True.

He put himself in a jam, played too much so needed rest but also needed a warmup.

He could have played a few rounds and then tank, that may have worked.

Did he ever skip the warmup event before?

WTF are you guys thinking?   :rasta: :;:-|

He was *smart.* He sacrificed ZERO grass points to rack up MASSIVE clay points and another RG title.

To think your way is *stupid.*

Did he ever skip the warmup event before?
2007 he played Queens, reached the Final of W
2008 he played Queens, won W
2009 didn't play on grass at all
2010 he played Queens, won W
2011 he played Queens, reached the Final of W
2012 he played Hale, lost in R2 at W
2013 no warmup tournament, lost in R1 at W

so, you, see the pattern.  every time he played a warmup tournament on grass (except last year), he reached the final or won Wimbledon (since 2007)

Babbs I know Victoria is a drama queen! :rofl_2: I just like her play (minus the singing)  I mean, other than Serena, there isn't many women I actually like seeing play these days.  When Serena wasn't playing that much, I gravitated towards Victoria.  Lord knows I didn't want to root for Caroline, who was #1 at that time! :\  So it's still Serena by a long mile....then Victoria...then...maybe Sloan (but she has a long way to go)....then...no one else that I'm remotely interested in from the WTA! :rofl_2:

And SID...yes, I can only take it ONE MATCH AT A TIME....We saw what happened to Nadal today.  If he can lose to the 135th ranked player...you can't take any player for granted!  So I'm sure I (as well as Roger) will be taking it one match at a time! :)~ :rofl_2:

Then start watching the American women. They are reloading :toot:
Stephens
Hampton
Keys
Burdette (don't ask me, but I think she's good)
Townsend (junior)

Stephens is the only one of that group that I actually like to watch.  The others are too ...I don't know..passive? But I'll keep an open mind when I see them again. :))

Yeah, keep watching.

Keys is not passive. Hampton has the best all-around game. She just ran out of gas like Stan. 18 y/o Townsend looks impressive.

I'm liking Hampton, kinda sad to watch her go down easily to Sloane after the impressive run on grass she's had and the climb up in rankings. Looking forward to seeing more of her.

I would like to see Jerzy vs Federer on grass.
