At this rate, this match won't be over until 10 hours later!

It's official, the ATP & WTA have united to become one tour.
In the first 7 games of The Gentleman's Championships there have been 3, yes THREE, breaks of serve and numerous baseline rallies extending more than 20 shots.  The majority of those rallies have ended in UFE's.

I shall boycott the remainder of this 'Ladies' final.

MT, you have eloquently stated the underlying theme of the Final round of Wimbledon Wizard Contest questions...   :worthy: :)) :))

Since I was late to the party, I only peaked in on the Wizard game to see how folks were doing.  Completely missed the questions! :lmao:

Is anyone enjoying 30 shot rallies on EVERY point? I like both Murray and Novak and don't mind watching their better points but can't say I don't miss Federer vs Novak just a little bit. So many opportunities to get to the net, none taken. The rallies are breathtaking .. But too many breathtaking pints leaves me breathless and I don't like that.

Hi pawan, it depends on your perspective.  Yes I enjoy Fed-Djoko match when they both play well, but then again Djoko-Murray at their best is a great match too (this one is not one of those so far, so hard to compare, but again Fed-Djoko have had some low quality matches too). I am completely enjoying the way both players are looking for ways to adjust to the conditions, and the physical intangibles of the match, while still looking for ways to try this and that shot to gain the edge.  In terms of a physical and mental battle, this match is right up there so far with the best, even if tennis quality wise it's little below.
Also, there have not been any 30 shot rallies at all, I am not sure how you see that on every point (with capital letters you wrote "every", again, matter of perspective?).  They showed it about 15 minutes ago. the longest rally has been 26 shots and the average rally lasts below 10 shots (can't remember what exactly, I thnk it was 7.5?)
Best

I agree with you. It is all perspective, I do like the tennis and the tension and the points. The balance and flexibility and power and the point construction when there is some is amazing. There had been at least one 30 point rally early in the second set and the rallies are longer than i like sometimes.

Congrats to Murray. Djokovic didn't show up today or shall I say Andy was that much better.

Sid, Emma, I'll try to share your happiness today with you although it's a tough loss. I expected a different match. I'm not so sure why Djokovic was so tight. I've always seen Nole as a big fighter ... today I'm not so sure but there is no point of getting too emotional.

as for people saying it didn't feel like grass ... it is what it is, it was the same for both players.

From my perspective, there were far too many points that turned into conservative rallies and ended in UFE'S.  Far too few ventures to the net from either player and some downright piss poor serving on both their parts resulting in too many breaks of serve.  Might as well dump a pile of clay on SW19, throw some skirts on those boyeeez and have Virginia Slims sponsor the tourney 'cause that sure as hell ain't how grass court tennis is supposed to be played by men.
*written with all due respect for differing opinions of course*

On a side note-  I think both Sid & Emma did a spectacular job in the final and deserve congrats of the highest order.  The long hours, personal sacrifices, and hard work finally payed off for you.  Keep up the good work yous guys.
