I've been always saying this so I'll say it again.

To me the real talent is shown via short rallies. It takes much more effort to win the point with only few shots.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like huge servers who only depend on their serve. But watching aggressive and offensive tennis is why I started watching tennis in the first place.
What many players do after 20+ boring rallies can be also seen in 3 simple shots. Unfortunately there's only a few tourneys where that style of play is transcended but those tours are worth reminding me how this game used to be much more fun to watch.

Let's pray we see less entertainment drama through tennis and more determined and uncompromised tennis.

That about sums it up.
I think it helps the game to have both styles of player.
The more conservative players can punish the attackers that aren't consistent enough and vice versa.

The courts just don't favor the short game anymore.
SandV is just about dead, it doesn't work or more would use it.

Soderling, Berdych, Rosol, Darcis, Stakhovsky all true legends of tennis.

I don't really enjoy tennis when both players are serve and volleying. Unless both are playing in their peak, points end up too short and most of them are unreturned serves.

I don't like long rallies either, when both players are passive and unwilling to pull the trigger or approach the net.

That's why I prefer the current generation. Federer-Tsonga-Berdych are my favorites to watch. Great allcourters.
