Something worth mentioning, in addition to the clay tournaments Fed is playing post Wimbledon, he didn't play the Rogers Cup last year.

Wrong thread turkey.  :laugh-bounce:

I took it from Chinese forum. Jerzy has to at least make 4th round of Cincinnati and Toronto and Washington QF before US open to cover the points he earned in the same period last year. US open will be another major even for Jerzy ranking as he only need to defend 10 points. Before Paris Master, he has to do well on Shanghai Master. The good news is he didn't attain Shanghai Master and Toronto Roger Cup last year.

Thanks for posting WC.

You can figure out year end ranking by using the normal ranking and taking into account the points that need defending.

Or you can go by just adding up points starting at the beginning of the year.

Some may tell you that defending points have nothing to do with year end ranking but it does if you use the regular ranking to calculate the year end result.

So there are two ways then of calculating the probable year end ranking by using the race or the regular ranking.

These two methods looking for two different purposes. For me, I am more looking for where Jerzy will be seeded in US open.

jerzy could make the quarters at the u.s. open given the right draw. even the semis is a possibility with his game.

he just has to keep working on:

1. the return
2. the serve

3. ground game. and this means some time spent practicing on clay.

4. net play

Look down this web page, you'll see the points breakdown for different tournaments.

Good news.

He's had that problem for months now and it's about time he had it looked at.

I thought he's take some time off though.

I guess he's this year's Robin Soderling?
Then we will fight in the shade.

I don't think so FFF, he has a lot of talent and has plenty of areas to improve.

His movement is so good for someone that height, it'll be a big help.

He only needs to work hard and experience.

And keep his mind on the game instead of complaining.

Just hope there is no other issue to him. He has to do well in Hamburg to climb up his ranking.

I am apprehensive. A big guy like that who moves like he does seems injury prone.
No problems as yet that are serious.

The clay should help him build endurance and help with balance.
I like that he decided to play that tournament.
