Too bad Rampras, one of the few remaining saviours of S&V, lost yesterday to Michał Przysiężny. Rampras has often done well at Newport the 5th slam, last year he made semis and in 2009 he won both singles and doubles. But don't underestimate Przysiężny, he won the prestigious Helsinki Challenger in Finland in 2009.

And to the ones saying Djokovic and Murray killed tennis; it didn't happen! Real tennis is still well alive at Newport the 5th slam. The match of the year will be on Friday, I mean Isner vs. Karlovic. I don't start to guess who will win, all I know is that tennis will win.

Ahh Sijsling lost very close match but good to see Mahut on a roll on grass again  ;-()

Hopefully he can win the whole thing now! Allez Mahut :cheer:

I just caught the tail end of the Isner / Karlovic match. JI won it 76,76.

Hewitt is playing Hernych, about whom I know zilch, but who has broken LH in the opening game. He holds to go up 2-0.

hah no doubt Karlovic vs Isner would go to TB's  ..-) ..-)
Must be a painful to watch that. Still slightly better than grinding but still painful.

When those two guys play the court looks so small.  :)

Hehe but I'm glad to see Karlovic back, even though I don't like his tennis, he has nice personality  ;-()

I never liked his tennis game but when he was better it was interesting how players tried to get his serves back.

I would argue it's just as bad as 2 grinders.

Hewitt / Isner going to a third set. LH took the 2nd set 62 - something tells me JI hasn't been serving well.

I saw some of the second set & the last few games of the decider.  Well done to LH. It's nice to see him in another final.  I like  Mahut too. It promises to be a good match.

Hewitt with the early break in the 1st set. But Mahut breaks right back. 3-3.

Mahut breaks back & it's 3-3.

I've no other thread to say this on, but I've been watching some of the Errani- Vinci final in Italy. A set apiece - no surprises there. These two know each others game inside out.
