Somehow they feel tennis should be played only one way and that's their way. Never mind that it comes with different tastes but somehow someone's personal taste becomes as the general standard. And if a few people agree on it then all the more reason to 'believe' it is absolutely 'the way'.

Neither of them killed Tennis. Against any other guy they have amazing matches, in fact even the two of them have had half a dozen good matches.

It's not their fault that their gamestyles are very similar.

Don't like it? Don't watch.

Did you just get seduced by this Prod clown or are you trying to seduce him?  :rofl_2:

I was trashing you guys for making these kind of statements. It's like more of the same, "Babs just wants to see a return to all grass, wooden racquet, short shorts, S&V tennis."

This is why I call you guys morons. Y'all live in some bubble. No matter how many times I state something and mock you for going hyperbolically hysterical to the extreme (see above), it makes no impression, whatsoever. Nothing gets into the bubble.

I've said it this week, probably in this very thread.

One idiot says something idiotic, then a bunch of morons start repeating it. I take the time to set them straight, then a few days later, a new idiot pops up, and the same morons fall in line, having completely forgotten the discussion we had just 2 days prior.

Well, I don't come here to either argue nonstop or file a series of complaints, but that's the general norm where it's been discussed by some from time to time. Perhaps not on this thread but it's been discussed repeatedly and I had already told Luggy not to show personal preference as the normal standard model of tennis. It's just plain wrong.

But if I were to go to your initial post, then I have to say this, the name of this thread is overly dramatic and the statement, "This was Wimbledon and no one cared about it's final. The semis were much more anticipated and drew far more interest." is grossly exaggerated. I've already shown that ESPN has seen 2nd highest rating in 33 years. As to the 40% decline, that's been happening for a while now. It's been happening since the end of 80s when tennis especially Wimbledon saw highest ratings and it's been in decline since then.

sid, swishshy reported that all the tennis boards are blowing up over Janowicz.

Federer carried T4U for about 5 years. This place was infested with Fed fans. Probably over 30 at its peak. Then Fed lost a match in 2010 and they all went away.

There have never been more than a handful of Rafa fans here. Alex is the only Nole fan. You and Emma are the only Murray fans.

Let's see what happens if people start coming out of the word work for Janowicz, because Nole and Murray can't generate interest.

See what I did there?!  ;-()

Well don't think I could influence anyone with my preference, how the hell could I considering todays tennis is almost everything the opposite of what I like  :rofl_2:

Its just my opinion and my preference, there's no standard tennis model but what one prefers, and I've stated many times what I like to see more in tennis.

Somehow they feel tennis should be played only one way and that's their way. Never mind that it comes with different tastes but somehow someone's personal taste becomes as the general standard. And if a few people agree on it then all the more reason to 'believe' it is absolutely 'the way'.

I mean who wants to see 43 winners and 43 errors by the same player in the same match (Verdasco)? Who wants to see 11 Aces and 11 DFs in the same match (Janowicz)? Who cares for 40 errors in 3 sets (Nole)? It's, in fact, a great skill when you play a less error prone match. Who cares about mindless ball bashing by players who can't think while facing a great challenge? I mean watch Federer shank the ball left and right these days. That's not a pretty match.
Janowicz is great.

If you stick around you will see that it's very hard for some people to do that.

I enjoy tennis very much and I like this match up - Nole/Murray. Not all of their matches are great but so aren't many of Federer/Nadal matches (or even Nadal/Nole), but some are just blind to that.

If it's so difficult for them to do, why don't they start to appreciate different styles instead of being nostalgia tards who believe Tennis should only be played in one way...

Funny how I didn't get personal and Babblelot starts throwing pathetic childish jibes around.

Janowicz for his age is very good,i did play alot of tennis once, even if i don't today.I'm not blind by what he's done to-date,i'd be Shocked & Amazed if he was not in the top 10 in 2014.For such a big guy he moves well, better than say Potty.Janowicz beat Murray Paris Masters, but Murray never goes far in that Masters. Can he get strong enough in Slams, will his body take it.He is a throwback S & V with quite good hands.I don't think comming into the net Will win Slams, his forehand is big to when he stays back. The big 4 i feel ATM would get his serve back odd's are thay'd be better once the balls in play.Janowicz has time, look how long it's taken Murray to win a Slam or Slams if i'm pulled up (2).

Yes, Murray-Novak match-up it's extremely painful.........even most of their fans agree on this. Well, at least the one who want to be honest.

I will say on behalf of babs; he has said a MILLION times that what he wants it's a perfect blend of different styles similar to what he thinks it's the zenith of tennis; 1997. I, of course disagree with him but not entirely and I have stated what can be done to force modern players to incorporate more variety in their game.....they are certainly capable IF the rewards were there.

Finally, Murray vs most players or Novak vs most players are fantastic match-ups. The problem is the "mirror" problem these two suffer when they face each other.......I bet you a million dollars they feel like they are playing against the wall.....and the wall never encourages you to be aggressive but STEADY.

Yes, and to that I'll add that Nole-Murray don't generate interest and we've summarized the thread almost completely.

Want to know what I love? When people assume I don't like watching the sport because of my comments. Hmmm...I bet, in comparison to me, no one looks like they're real tennis fans. I've set the bar high.
