Thanks for the video Sir Alex!

No, it's almost impossible to meaningfully compare across the generations, except in generalities.
Too much has changed over the years.  Sometimes it's difficult to define who is the greatest within a single generation.
And each generation builds on the next.  I like the term - "one of the greatest".
And thankfully, for those of us who love great tennis, there have been a few in that category almost every decade or so.

Respectfully,
masterclass

To me the definition of greatness = innovation. So from that standpoint, I consider the real innovators of the Open Era to be:

Connors, Borg, Lendl, Agassi, Federer, Nadal, Djokovic.
Then we will fight in the shade.

Here is a super video retrospective of Gonzales.  His Latino personality was fiery. The great Rod Laver once said he tried very hard NOT to make Gonzales angry during a match, because he became almost unplayable once angered.

He had an incredible serve (clocked around 120mph), even while being forced by the rules of the time to keep one foot on the ground and with the old small frame (65 sq inch) and gut strung wooden racquets.  Watch and enjoy.

Richard Alonso "Pancho" Gonzales(z)

:ice cream: :fish: :Bleh: :rasta: I am immune to these two plates, i don't like sour taste and they look a bit too greasy
grease is actually good for you ... olive oil, meat, veggies,

cut down on carbs (rice, potato, bread, sugar) ...  let yourself have whatever you want once in a while

holy god, potato and bread are my favourite  :))

roger is winning in Hamburg, godo for you  ;-()

guess most probably I have to delay the trip to late September and have to pay HK$4,000 more as penalty to the travel company.  No one has offered to take up the place for my friend, and i don't want to go alone.  You know mimi is chicken-hearted  :)~

Fed lost today. Oh well, he needs to get his racket straightened out and his game wasn't good since before the back problems way back at IW.

I'm sure he knows the problem so will work it out.
